Scriptless Pipes by Turkey
Welcome to Scriptless Pipes!
NOTE: A lot of people have struggled with level 4. As a helpful tip, there are 2 hints/ parts to the riddle on different layers that when you put them together, you solve to get the answer to the riddle. Hope this helps!
This game was made entirely using only HTML and CSS. Not a single drop of script is contained in this project or was used to make this!
The goal of Scriptless Pipes is simply to get to the bottom of the webpage! You utilize the pipes to take you deeper and deep to the various layers of each level.
Some levels have additional tasks like flipping levers, or finding/ solving a code before you may progress to the next level.
This game works on mobile, (It's HTML and CSS why wouldn't it), but I do recommend you use landscape mode to prevent things from getting bunched up and over top of each other.
Have fun and enjoy my game!
Why did I only use HTML and CSS? - I don't really consider my self a true "Game Dev", but over the past year I've been recreating games with "unconventional game engines", such as Snake in Discord, Tetris in Minecraft, and Battle Ship on Twitter. I like the unique challenge these bring, so I thought I'd try to continue with the challenge for this Ludum Dare! HTML and CSS were chosen simply because they are both pretty powerful, but you would never think to make a game using only them.

Jokes aside, super cool idea!! So creative. I could not solve the riddle, Layer 4 was "empty". A tiger? Purple? I even tried to use the console :)
EDIT: I was coding for 48 hours so I inserted the color of the pipe (purple) in the riddle. I got it!!! Sorry my brain was fried
The browser has no right to be able to do this, it's an abomination. Why you can make a game that's compelling at all with just that is beyond me...
But anyways, it's nice and simple. I like it more as a tech demo than a game though...
The only thing I'm missing is audio. I'm not sure how hard that would be (or if it's even possible) with just HTML5, but some relaxing background tracks and pipe traversal sound would really elevate this already charming concept.
Great work!
Good game.
@nick-barrash Thanks for playing!
@binaryprinciple Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing!
@dergamer Yes, the trend has definitely been set xD Glad you stilled liked the game!
The limitation to just HTML and CSS was an interesting constraint.
Good work!
