How Low Can you Go by SaeedPrez
How Low Can You Go is a deep sea diver action/shooter/simulation game where your goal is to survive and dive as deep as you can while fighting off huge sea monsters.
Since I've started learning Blender recently, my main focus this game jam has been on creating the models and animations. So everything with the exception of the game audio is created by yours truly SaeedPrez.
I hope you enjoy this simple game.

The core loop was pretty fun, however the difficulty didn't appear to ramp up all that much (I made it to about 230m before I stopped). It would be cool to have more or faster sharks as you get lower :)
The part that is most interesting in the gameplay is that they appear in the distance and you have to move 360 degrees to see what's coming.
The only thing I'd change is the interval between the harpoon-trowing. Now you can basicly spam the harpoons to kill the fish.
Simple and polished. The first shark that did sneak up on me scared me :)
Crunchy game over sound too! The shooting sound got a bit repetetive after a while.

That "little fishy" pulled a dirty move and snuck up behind me while I was shooting someone else.... smart "little fishy".
One thing that would be interesting to see in a post-jam version is when you hit certain intervals (every 100 meters?) the sharks stop spawning temporarily and you have to do a boss fight against a kraken or something.
Cons: Fish model and eating of the diver could be improved. :)
I think overall, the pacing feels a little slow. Maybe some variation in the shark approach patterns and sizes could have helped that.
Overall, pretty solid game loop, and cute graphics. The small bubbles really gave you the reference for feeling that you were falling. I've played a lot of diving games where the descent feels static, because there's nothing to reference for movement.
Nice work!
The game has also a great atmosphere.
Very good and fun game. Good job.
Nice game! Gameplay and controls are clear, sounds help a lot to create an interesting submarine mood, good visuals. Maybe I would like to see some visual/sound feedback to feel my progression in the depth (darker, more pressure, etc) but maybe I didn't play enough? Also, use the 3D sound to know, as player, where are the enemies. But it's great and I enjoyed playing it!
Anyways I gave up after 250m.. xD
Some more enemies and different abilities and I would have rated it even higher!
