Dog's Descent by EnderBit

[raw]
made by EnderBit for Ludum Dare 48 (JAM)

When Dog (You), watches his precious bone fall into the well, he has no choice but to jump in after it! The game is an infinite descent into a well. You will need to dodge rocks and complete puzzles to make it as deep as you can. How deep can you go?

This is the first game we have ever made and we had so much fun doing it!

The camera angle made the platforming sections a little hard to do.

Love the 3D model of the dog, very stylish in a PS1 game type of way.

Those stairs at the bottom are verrrry hard.

Loved the dog going into the well for his bone, really fun concept. Controls are tough especially on the ground at the bottom of the well. Overall, really fun and cute!

Very cute. I like the character and the feeling of swinging around to avoid the rocks. It seems like a good base of mechanics to work from if you had more time. Nice job!

A cute game, seems incredibly difficult though. Maybe I'm just bad, but I feel like it's kind of hard to judge the position of the character relative to the platforms from the viewing angle. Still, good work!

Great concept! The art was really cute, and the gameplay was also fun. I found the stones falling from above to be a little difficult to dodge, as it seemed to be more based on luck than reaction time. Otherwise, I really enjoyed playing this. Good job!

really love the menu, the animations are very stylish. If this is the first game you've ever made it's very impressive although some shadows would have gone a long way to making the platforming segments a lot easier as well as helping the look of the game

Neat concept! Love the art, has a ps2 era feel to it and I love the little story of the dog losing his bone down the well. Nice and straight forward plot/reason for us to descend! I agree with other comments saying that the camera angle kind of makes it hard to judge depth, with this being more worked on I think the game would be a more enjoyable and challenging experience rather than more luck based. Great stuff otherwise!

Had a little bit of difficulties controlling the dog. But Overall very cute game, did you make the soundtrack all by yourself? :)

I love the dog model, the background is very nicely done, but I couldn't figure out how to move or interact with the game at all. none of the buttons seem to do anything, and I sat for ages before a rock fell past me. I feel like if the gameplay was functional this could have some potential but for now it is broken.

First, the animations are stellar! Good job doing that! The perspective is rather confusing though and it makes it hard to avoid rocks and jump on platform.

What a different idea! I love that your adventure is a cute, brave critter going down a well. Adorable face for the character. Sad I got bonked by rocks because he was so cute, actually. Well done!!

I love the style and 3d assets. Platforming was a bit tricky and I couldn't progress very far.
