LumenBrink by mrawde

[raw]
made by mrawde for Ludum Dare 48 (COMPO)

You've been assigned to project LumenBrink. You're excavating a strange planet in search of an artifact. Your employer thought having more teams would make the search go faster. Now it's your job to coordinate the various excavators to make sure they fully dig up each layer, and return to their corresponding collection site.

A really nice, polished entry! This would work really nicely as a mobile puzzler game that you could release off the back of this jam. Graphics are really clean. Well done!

The game is very calm and fun, keeps you thinking just enough to where you have to actually consider your movements but not too hard where you want to give up. I feel like the movement could be a little bit more instantaneous so that right after moving and picking a different excavator you can move instantly and not have to wait for that odd half or full second delay.

This was fun. There were a whole lot of puzzles without much variation in mechanics, which eventually got a little repetitive - it might have been neat to add some kind of complexity to the game, like teleporters, or items that trigger filling or emptying of squares nearby, or something like that. But I enjoyed it, and it played well and looked good. Nice work. I got to Ending 1, but I don't know what the other endings would be...

A very polished line-connection puzzler! The mechanics might not be new or groundbreaking, but the implementation here is clean with great pixel art and smooth gameplay. Nicely done!

That was cool! I enjoyed the puzzles, and did actually end up beating it. Would be cool if there was more variaiton to the puzzles as dob said, but really great game! Amazing compo submission!

Wow this is really good! It's a finished game I'd say. I think you can add a few more levels and release it right away

This game deserves more attention. Really polished, nicely done, enjoyable and smart, sharp controls. And everything fits together.

Fantastic balance of difficulty stepping up slowly with your progress. Many levels, like truly a lot, half of it would be fine for a jam game, this is a finished puzzle game.

A very cool game, the game feel very completed. The graphic and sound effects very match the game. Hard to imagine it's completed within only 48 hours, good job! But I don't know why the level stuck on 1-3 on my mac with both Safari and Chrome.![2021-04-29_16h07_ld48-mrawde.png](///raw/173/a3/z/4184c.png)

@jacky-chan , On level 2, the text briefly mentions that you have to clear all the squares (i.e. visit them all once). I definitely should've made level 2 "harder" in that you can't pass it until you actually digest that rule. As-is, it's too easy to just drag all 4 of those trucks and never get it.

@mrawde Ahh, I see. Now I get the point and finished the game. The game is pretty cool and fun. Thanks for pointing out.

Nice puzzles! The polish on this game is really impressive, the music and graphics both fit each other and the theme very well. Someone said this would work well as a mobile puzzler and I really agree!

Really polished game for COMPO!!!!!
I finished the game but the later puzzles were easier than the middle one i think.
Art is very well done.
Although game is not directly connected to the theme.
Overall really well done.....

This was tons of fun to play! The solutions were always satisfying and elegant, the artwork was great and clear, the music was a bit repetitive but it definitely set the mood, and I didn't encounter any bugs or issues. Very nice job!

Completed all levels!

Pros:

- Simple and cool graphics
- Enjoying and enganging gameplay
- Smooth introduction to harder puzzles
- Actually well-scoped difficulty
- Great, that you can select different machines and dig without any order to complete the task
- Multiple controllers support +++

Cons:

- The 'music' got into my head, it's still 'ding donging'

Overall can't say anything other than solid job for Compo! Great and well-scoped puzzle game!
