Bundt Man by bubbadubc

Bundt Man loooooooves cake! He's even willing to go 'Deeper and Deeper' into unexplored dungeons to get some! Dodge traps, evade ghosts, and

Eat! That! Cake!

Thanks so much for playing!

Please leave feedback and as always I worked absolutely the hardest on music! The team this year brought many wonderful ideas and helped design the levels. They made sure I stayed motivated, and even encouraged breaks, meals, and hydration!

Special thanks to them!

Here is a death animation I'm really proud of! I wanted dying to be a fun part of the game. die!.gif

Here is a win animation and our use of "Deeper and Deeper" win.gif

Really great entry! I loved the audio and the graphics especially. It was a lot of fun to see all the death animations, I don't think there was one where I didn't chuckle haha

This is FANTASTIC. The animations, the art, the music--amazing work. It'd be nice to have WASD support though, esp in the WebGL version--because the arrow keys scroll the window up/down in my browser too and it's a bit awkward. :D

I think this is my favorite entry so far this LD! So good.

@otresnjak thank you for the feedback on that page scrolling bug, I fixed it and it should help future players. It only happens on itch io, I just fail to remember it every time!

I loved every single level. I'm one of these "weirdo guys" who love rage-games, so I really enjoy playing it.

Cool. Very cool! Well done. ArtStyle, the Humor, the sound effect. Perfect. I would suggest to develop a full-version also. maybe for mobile :eyes: hehe

The death animation is 10/10! The music is very cool too! It was very hard to get the timing of the spikes...

LOVE IT! Will be coming back to continue playing (Spikes are NOT my friends)

Played the WebGL version on MacOS - and was a bit blurry on the main screen, but fine on an external monitor. I think it might have been something with the high DPI settings (Just a note for next time).

Art, audio, and mechanics were all amazing, I didn't find any flaws. The game is fun however it got quite difficult for me on the 5th level I think, then again, I am not the best at intricate movement games.

It was short fun game. Some code is left in the description on itchio. Loved the art and the challenge :)

@mauriciomunky, I'm sorry I did that to ya! haha, but as a hint, it's a visual trick for the middle set you have to pause each one, unlike the other two you can just hold right at the right time! Thanks for playing and thank you for rating!

Who is bundt man? What makes these bundt cakes so delicious that he risks his life for said bundt cakes? Do they possess mystical abilities, to cause ghosties to guard them so? Does bundt man's backpack have ample milk with which to coat his parched throat after so many bundt cakes? These are the questions I asked myself as I happily went through the levels.

As someone who isn't very experienced with platformers, it provided just enough challenge. Very fun! I would love to play more.

Nice game! love the graphics and the feel of the game. I didn't like how the spikes work, had a lot of trouble knowing when it was safe to walk over them. I least the death was super cool ;)
Good Work!

@habibirb the 5th level that looks like you're stuck at first?

@gharliquebread Thank you, we actually had a lot of the story thought out and written down but didn't pan it out because of time restrictions BUT hearing comments like this makes me want to make this into a full game! Thank you.

@juako sorry mate! As a general rule for danger, it looks scarier than it is, so there's exactly .1 seconds when you can die, otherwise it's safe. Kind of a trick I learned that will help newer players, but I see that being frustrating so I took note. Clarity is very important so I'll emphasize the danger time more!
you can see in this gif of the face actually being inside the ghost lol

![hit box.gif](///raw/cca/d2/z/4104a.gif)
and here I show the timing is really mostly safe, but yes I would probably make it move back down more swiftly to appear safer longer. thanks again for that feedback.

Solid game, the audio and animations really make it pop. The gameplay itself is basic, but there was some challenge to a few of the rooms. I was really surprised to see how many levels there were. The only critique I'll make is the hit detection times are a little hard to figure out but it does ease you into the more difficult ones.

Ого, желание главного героя съесть тортики поражает! Мне бы его решительность!
Вспомнил игру Dangerous Dave, где каждая смерть была тоже анимирована.
Милая игра, хорошо сделана ^_^

Honestly, one of the best I played so far! The art style is awesome, I loved my "Oh yeah" reminded me a friend of mine. The level is well design and the mechanics easy to understand. So much potential! I felt like I was playing a GBA game.
No complaints, bugs, or anything, flawless.

There are so many nice little touches here, it's awesome. The music got my head nodding almost immediately. The little wink at the end. Getting knocked into the camera. All those little things just elevate this above the others.

I really enjoyed the core gameplay. You kicked the difficulty in pretty much right away, so it kept me on my toes and paying attention. And also using a lot of old, dormant NES skills...

So yea, extra shoutouts to the level designer(s). You took a small amount of mechanics but kept remixing them in ways that made me think differently. Really well done game!

Great game! Love the music, sound effects and graphics (especially for the death animations!) Mechanics are simple but provide enough challenge. Only issue is that I experienced some random freezing on the web version.

@meritcoding thanks for commenting, could you be a bit more specific about the SFX and why you didn't like them?
Thank you!

Really good art and audio! I was surprised at how well the non-tile-based pushing system worked - that seems like something that could easily go wrong. I like that the spikes were quite forgiving, but it was a bit hard to tell exactly when they were a danger and when they weren't. Still, very good work!
