World Eater by EnkiBye

[raw]
made by EnkiBye for LD33 (JAM)
Imagine Pac-Man in the Game of Life.

In World Eater, you are the great old One and you need to eat all planets in the universe, but be careful, the planets multiply themselfs with the rules of the Game of Life.

KEY :
Arrows : turn the great old One.
Space : Pause the game (the timer will not stop).
-Editor mode only : Space : go to next turn.

You can create you own levels and share them here :

During this jam, we had a sub-theme, "emergence", that's why we took this direction.

Made by 4 french game design students :
-Gregory Chicoine : game design
-Enki Londe : lead programing
-Emmanuelle Kasztellan : sound design and graphics
-Thomas Pontette : programing
thank to Evan King for the main music.

Great adaptation of The Game of Life! I especially like that you gave the ability to create your own levels. I haven't played around with the game of life in a while so being able to eat my creations was a great twist!

The Game of Life feels different when you are flying around inside it and consuming everything in your path! The sound and graphics worked well. I thought the UI felt a little janky, but that is very hard to nail in such a short time frame.

This had one of the more polished UI's out of the games I've played so far
Enjoyed the game, great work!

Never heard of the Game of Life before, so it was nice getting introduced to that; maybe some kind of introduction to the rules would help. I also enjoyed the music.
Nice game!
