Deep Sleep by dikopr0s

[raw]
made by dikopr0s for Ludum Dare 48 (COMPO)

fJ0SpN.pngThis is a game about dream traveling. Sometimes, strange things are seen in dreams. This (unfinished)game was inspired by LSD Dream Emulator(old PS1 game). You can move from one dream to another, but if you die or interact with something(click), you will wake up. In current state, game is very buggy and empty, but maybe I will develop the idea further in the future. (thanks @general for walkthrough video) !https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDCzOM383ug

LSD Simulator = a big  in my book.
Although you should've made more stuff...

Inspiration is great, but amount of content is really small

I liked the cinematics they really set the mood.

I think there is an opportunity to make a lot of cool dream based content here. 48 hours is not very much time.

Good work!

I like the Inception-style idea, and as others said, this would have benefitted from more content, or at least more interesting layouts for the dreams, telling a (simple) story of moving through this character's life. Although this was a Compo game, so it's understandable that it's a bit light on content. The opening scene with the alarm clock and the camera tilting down to sleep was very nice, maybe have more flourishes in the room so that we can see a glimpse of the character's "waking" life before seeing them in dream form. All in all a cool idea!

Really abstract idea. I was weirded out at first then I read your description saying it was inspired by LSD Sim, then it all made sense lol. Really trippy expeirence so you hit the nail on the head, also fits the theme perfectly. Great work!

Didn't feel like a game, it was more an experience that you can get when you visit some modern art exhibition) Interesting idea. I looked around and then clicked the floor and saw the clock, then clicked to go to the next dream...

To make it a game you could add ability to move around and to find and pick some item that would take player to another dream (go deeper in the dreams). The winner would be the one who went the deepest. This item could look very similar to the background (so the player would have to search carefully the whole dream space).

Nice concept, definitely potential for a longer experiential game. I particularly liked the music and mysterious atmosphere. Great job!

Yeah... it's not that great, but hey, it has potential. Some bugs could be that in the level with high mountains I could glitch out of the map. When falling from high places, the camera shaked a little too much. Sometimes, the character moved a bit too fast. Since the audio listener is in the player, sometimes the audio was too quiet, and it cut out weirdly. Graphically, it was not the best, but it had some cool things. And the sounds, apart from that bug, sounds nice. I don't know if it was a bug or something, but the game ended very quickly and it seemed like it started and ended a level inmediatly. At least the transition were pretty good. Overall, it needs to be worked on more, but it has potential to become something like LSD Dream Simulator. Either way, congrats on your entry!

@natalia-dushkina it was not meant to be a some sort of a "real" game, but I really like your idea.

Thanks you all for taking a look at my submission. As with any jam, everything did not go according to the plan, and in the end I spent 3/4 of the time with the backend stuff (I tried to make the random generated levels e.t.c. but failed) and did not got my hands on "game" content. I am very glad that you found my idea interesting, I think that the goal of the jam (get a feedback) has been achieved and perhaps in the future I will fully implement the idea, but from scratch.
