the sunken place by RomeRomey
this is the first game that i've made without directly following a tutorial step by step.
the theme deeper and deeper made me think of the hypnosis scene in "Get Out." so i made a platformer where you play a personification of your own consciousness trying to escape the sunken place.

currently only the source code is available because i am waiting to download the export templates for godot. will update with the playable versions asap!
UPDATE, 40 minutes after submission close): the HTML is live!!
CONTROLS jump: spacebar move: left and right arrow keys

It was really cool! I loved the suttle background music and the risk of having to start over at every jump really kept me on my toes! Lengthwise the game could have been a little longer, so I'm looking forward to your full-release. ;) In which you add diffrent levels/sections, diffrent gravity on diffrent levels, moving platforms or anything else as crazy. :)
the character reminds me a lot of Downwell. I like the premise and I especially like the audio picking up the closer you get to the end. That plus knowing that the fall is deep gave the right amount of pressure.
I initially though the jump is too floaty but upon getting higher and having to jump on platforms directly below the platform I'm on made the jump feel kind good.
I recommend adding being able to jump off a platform for a few frames after already stepping off it (it's called coyote time), especially since you have very small platforms towards the end. I recommend looking up Matt Thorson's Strawberry project. He has Celeste-like physics in it.
Overall I enjoyed this a lot!
I think a few variations on the sprites would make the levels more interesting. Although the jump mechanic was a little different, having the jumps be so long seemed to add to the tension and matched the feel of the game, so I think that was a good call. Great work making your first game from scratch. I enjoyed playing it. Hope to see what you come up with for future events.
That being said, the main game is there and for a first game it's more than enough. Good job!
