Awesome Game, the graphics are incredible! your pixel art fish are on point! The menu system through the phone is clever! I love the notepad for credits!
Alternate inputs for camera or opening the phone would be nice ( click to take a picture, somekey to open the phone)
I ended up with 43000 in the bank quite rapidly
Beastarium is super cool and offers a nice end game.
The price for pictures system is awesome. On one trip down I took a picture and said "this is going to be a great one!" and ended up getting 10k in cash to upgrade my ship to full in one back!
Fishes are pretty, the phone is a good idea, the game runs smoothly, the bubble sounds are funny hehe, and now I am filthy rich with a red bathyscaphe!
Minors complaints would be:
- The phone's size increases slightly when looking at the bestiary or the notepad.
- A shortcut to open/close the phone would be nice.
- Sometimes I have trouble taking pictures after moving, even after all upgrades? It might be that I still try to aim too far.
The only problem i have is that it is a little bit too short, and that you gain way too much money when taking photos of some fish.
But overall, the game remains incredible, you did a really great job
Yeah, game have some *b a l a n c e* trouble  Unfortunetly we haven't time to calibrate it. But at least it simplifies gameplay and allowing to show all content of the game quicker. I think we will add some bugfixes and tweaks and add separate link to fixed version so original 72 hours version of the game will stay
Mechanics are great and well implemented, overall content of the game is more than I expected for a game jam, it plays beautifully in browser and didn't encounter any bug during my playthrough.
Excellent jam entry guys and congrats!
Sure, progression could use some balancing, as you mentioned above, but the overall impression is very nice. Expand the beastarium, make the rare species actually rare, add more (literal) depth, more upgrades, make a longer soundtrack, and I can absolutely see people paying money for a game like this, with the beautiful relaxing atmosphere it provides.
More upgrade, more fish!!
If you want to see someone play your game, I recorded my playthrough on Youtube
Enjoy!
