Clear Your Head by Styps

[raw]
made by Styps for Ludum Dare 48 (COMPO)

A short platformer where the player must dismiss all of the thoughts in their host's head so that they may get the deepest sleep possible. The more thoughts you dismiss, the deeper the sleep your host gets. But make sure to hurry, as you only have 2 minutes until your host falls asleep...

Nice short platformer game. There were times where jump didnt work (I'd recommend adding coyote time or something).

Yeah, I definitely understand about the jumping sometimes not working. That was something I kept running into but was running out of time to fix. I definitely need to look into fixing it for the future though. Thanks for the playthrough!

Great entry! I LOLed because I thought I need to race to the bottom avoiding the enemies to find out that you should collect things on the way ... Nice graphics. Cool implementation of going deeper in to someones sleep.

I fell through the bottom ground in my playthrough and started falling forever.. Maybe some holes in the collision detection

Really nice graphics and mood! The music is relaxing and fits the game well. I like the concept behind going deeper into dreams but I didn't really get that feeling from playing it.

Cute little game, jumping feels not quite right and sometimes it feels a little frustrating. Graphics and music is quite suitable foe your theme :)

Super cute little character, and an incredibly simplistic while atmospheric environment.
There is a strong atmosphere which drove me to complete this game, and kudos for having a defined ending! Those are always gratifying in a jam game.

Occasionally(pretty rarely) the jump would not work, the sound would trigger, but no jump. Felt like it mostly happened at the edge of platforms. IDK. Otherwise controls felt nice.

The atmosphere was clean and dreamy. I think a relatively easy way to amp it up would be to have the cloud sprites animated(I am no artist, but I kept picturing them this way). They could either be animated sprites, or slightly depress under foot... I'm picturing things, damn I love making games :)

The music was soothing, dreamy, beautiful.

Well Done.

I would second the suggestion to add coyote time and other, similar quality-of-life features to the jumping. I'm definitely a snob about 2D platformer jumping though :id:

That said, I liked it overall! The sound and graphics were nice, and it felt complete. I think it was a good move to define a specific scope (2 minutes, 10 collectables) and make sure everything felt good within that. Nice work!

I liked the music here. I was worried i had to land my collisions perfectly, but i am glad to see that as long as you get close enough to the memories you can collect them.
i fell through the floor at one point and fell off the map.

Such a clever use of the theme! I love how simple yet charming the gameplay is. I got a bit sleepy when playing — but in this case, that's a good thing

I think the game could benefit from the "platforming ledge tolerance / forgiveness" if you're looking to expand it. Very good compo entry, good job!

Interesting use of theme. Nice game but I think koyote time and better controls could improve it.

Cute game! Nice on-theme music and un-obtrusive sound effects!
