Space Pizza Delivery

The galaxy is hungry. The pizza is getting cold. You're already late.

Web App

We (Team of 2) developed a TypeScript web app. Here's the link: https://thecoconutdream.github.io/ludumDare59/

It's the year 2187. You're a delivery driver for Cosmic Pizza Co. - the only pizzeria brave (or desperate) enough to ship hot slices across Galactic Sector 7. Your customers live on distant planets, your spaceship barely holds together, and somewhere between here and there, a field of asteroids wants to ruin your day.

No one said this job would be easy. They said it paid in pizza.

Pick Your Pilot

NAMI - a Felinian cat with a legendary talent for not caring. She'll deliver your pizza. She just won't promise she didn't lick the box.

YUMI - a Canisian dog running at 110% enthusiasm at all times. The best. The most. The goodest.

How It Works

Every delivery is a three-act mission:

1. Fly There Navigate your ship through asteroid fields toward the client's planet. Dodge rocks. Visit side planets for upgrades. Try not to die.

Screenshot_2232.png

2. Crack the Code You can't just land on a planet - you need to decrypt the entry signal by hacking an interdimensional cypher. Six attempts to guess the 5-letter access code. Get it right: pizza delivered. Get it wrong: things get messy.

3. Escape (If You Have To) Failed the code? The client's planet goes into lockdown - turrets and all. You've got 12 seconds to get out of range before they blow you to stardust. No pressure.

Upgrades You'll Find Along the Way

Stop at side planets to scavenge gear:

  • Hyperdrive - +40% speed, one delivery only
  • Shield - absorbs one hit, then it's gone

Controls

| Action | Keys | |---|---| | Move / Steer | Arrow Keys or WASD | | Thrust forward | W or Arrow Up (hold) | | Confirm / Skip | Enter or Space | | Approach client planet | Enter (when nearby) | | Land on side planet | E (when nearby) | | Cycle outfit | 1 | | Type cypher guess | A – Z | | Delete letter | Backspace | | Submit guess | Enter | | Shoot asteroid shattering rainbow torpedos from your eyes | Space |

What Makes This Special

This is a full game loop with escalating challenge - each delivery adds more asteroids and hungrier customers. Unlock cosmetic outfits along the way (cooking hat? delivery hat? full space helmet?) and cycle through them with 1 whenever you feel like it.

I think the amount of mechanics and general polish of the game is quite impressive :) I was not able to decrypt a single password though...

It's a cute game with little cats and dogs. The part where you fly a spaceship in space is really well-made, and I got the hang of it right away. But the code-breaking section is a bit difficult, and I tend to fail easily. Combining different types of gameplay makes it a very interesting game.

Looks cute. Not clear at first that planets are safe to collide. Text is redundant. There's no visible end condition, only game over.

Beautiful pixel art! I'm terrible with security codes, thankfully we can escape!

I enjoy the inclusion of the wordle code cracking and the general fun of moving through the galaxy, the movement is a little janky but still alright.

Nice pixel graphics and a lot of content for a jam game.

good gameplay, tho maybe the wordle puzzle should have been implemented prior to the delivery, as a signal decrypt or something like that.

We brought so much pizza into the solar system! Lovely protagonists! And the wordling became somewhat easier once we realized it doesn't use a dictionary.

Really enjoyed this game, the art is impressive and the controls are fun to get the hang of! Reminded me of my outer wild flight experience (crashing immediatly in an asteroid)
