DRAW!!! by Alpharius_003

Draw!!! :gun:

You have no idea why, but in each world, you can always precisely knock over the guy's drink and force a disagreement that was supposed to end early to continue into the next world. Across three lives and three worlds, your rival keeps returning, first as a cowboy, then as a sorcerer, and finally as a samurai. What the h@$l! He always wants to have a fierce fight with you. Fortunately, you are a master of duel. Facing the guy's series of feints and false words, you must seize the opportunity, expose his flaws, and take him down.

How to Play

This is a signal-reading duel game. You will need to:

  • Watch the focus ring circling your opponent — it sweeps back and forth, tightening with the tempo.
  • The beat where the ring locks onto his chest is your judgment window. For a split second, time holds still.
  • In that instant your opponent will make one move — a fake (ignore it) or the real draw (shoot!).
  • Press Space (or Left Click) only on the real one.

Three clean hits end the level. One wrong call — firing on a fake or sleeping through the real cue — and you're sent back to the start.

Game Features

:milky_way: Three Showdowns, Three Kinds of Signal

Level 1 — The Cowboy Saloon
Pure visual duel. He sneezes, pats his pants, scratches his head, yanks a banana out of his holster… until the moment he actually draws a gun. Trust your eyes.

Level 2 — The Sorcerer's Study
Pure audio duel. The magician shouts nonsense — Fine, File, Fork, Fur, Tire, Wire — while performing the exact same casting pose every single time. Only "Fire" is real. Close your eyes. Trust your ears.

Level 3 — The Samurai Dojo
Everything at once. He bows, fixes his hair, sips rice wine, nibbles a dango… and one of those calm breaths is the cue for a silent steel draw. Trust everything.

:dart: Lock-On Focus Reticle

A rotating reticle sweeps across your opponent and contracts with each beat. When it seals, the duel is decided — and the animation plays out clean while the ring holds, so a good duelist never gets cheated by frame timing.

:fire: Rhythm-Synced Weapon

Your own weapon sways with the ring — a six-shooter at the saloon, a wand at the magician's desk, a katana in the dojo — and snaps with a flash frame the instant you pull the trigger.

:leaves: Distractions

Every so often the world itself conspires against you (20% chance on any action):

  • A tumbleweed rolls past the cowboy, vanishing behind his own shack.
  • A crow cuts across the magician's study.
  • A leaf drifts down right across the samurai's face.

They'll block your view for exactly one beat. The duel does not pause for you.

:stopwatch: Four Difficulty Presets

Pick your poison — Easy, Normal, Hard, or Insane. Harder presets speed up every animation, shrink the magician's audio lead time, and tighten every judgment window.

♾️ Infinite Mode

Unlocked after clearing all three levels. The cowboy comes back, faster and faster, and never stops. Every clean kill adds to your streak — one miss ends the run, and your score is graded on the Score screen with your personal best preserved.

:books: Teaching Rounds

A short, fully paused tutorial plays before Level 1 and Level 2, walking you through "this is a fake signal, do not react" and "draw when you hear Fire" so the mechanic clicks before the stakes arrive.

:wrench: Quick Keys

  • Space / Left Click — Draw
  • F2 — toggle auto-fire assist (fires for you on every true, on-beat signal)
  • F3 — skip the current level
  • F1 — toggle the debug overlay

beautifully designed, and loved the feel, i like to think i have quick reflexes, but after 2 failures, i was frustrated and had to give up, id only ask to make it a little more forgiving, excellent concept! reminds me of kiryby minigame.

Pretty fun! I loved all the variations, and that you had three characters. That's a lot of content for a jam game! I think my favorite was the cowboy though, due to it's simplicity.

P.S. I don't like that the description of the game is AI generated.

Charming art and great mood! I love the simplistic approach you guys took. For a one-button-game it has a surprising amount of depth.

The samurai is absolutely brutal, though. I'm not sure if it's my wireless peripherals or my old man reaction time, but I had a really hard time in hitting timing there with the normal difficulty.

Also, I'm not sure what "OFF RHYTHM" is supposed to mean. A couple of times the samurai flashed the real signal and I clicked, thinking I was fast enough but I got "OFF RHYTHM" instead of "TOO LATE". I'm not sure what I did wrong there. This was especially frustrating when I got the samurai to 2/3 and the final hit was off rhythm.

I did finally get the samurai, but it was definitely a struggle.

Overall a great and nicely polished entry! The tutorialization was top-notch!

Such a cute art style! I keep getting tricked by fake signals. It really tests your reflexes! There's even the classic tumbleweed element in the game, hahaha.

The art style is cute and the interpretation of the theme is interesting, but on level 3 difficulty my sense of rhythm seems to disappear

So the concept and idea for this is off the wall and hilarious. I love the idea of an eternal duel through the ages. The last stage was mega hard! And the step up in difficulty levels was intense (I could only complete it on easy). But a really pretty, silly and fun game.

Fun entry. I really enjoyed the different settings and mechanics for each level. Very unique take on the theme too with the signal being a signal your body gives before attacking. Level 3 is super hard but the rest were reasonable. I did manage to finally defeat it after several tries. Great game. Well done!

I definitely do not have fast enough reaction time to beat level 3  I loved the graphics, reminded me of old Flash games (in a good way!). Felt like something you may have found Newgrounds back in the day.

I think the description here is a bit too detailed, having so much information about the game hurts the charm a bit. Knowing how things work is nice to some extent, but here it takes away much of the surprise. It also feels a bit clinical, perhaps it was written or assisted by AI? But that obviously doesn't matter in terms of the game itself, it just spoils it a bit.

Oh and I'm convinced the text-to-speech sound of the "fork" spell was definitely not "fork"

You've done well. I particularly liked the interpretation of the second level, but the third (either I didn't understand, or I had to very quickly determine the difference between a fake and a true swing, which was confusing). But definitely a like for the idea, for the debug modes, and even the endless mode (but I didn't touch it because I don't really have the patience to play this kind of game, huh). But definitely like it.
