UFO Signals by Kaiomoi
UFO Signals is a time-management game in which you must detect and filter alien signals in order to classify them.
This project is my entry for Ludum Dare 59.
I didn’t finish the jam, but I spent a few hours polishing the project to make it more accessible.
I hope you enjoy it. <3

I like the gameplay that you interact and adjust with all the various knobs to achieve a goal.
I think adding a "change signals knob" in the main menu was a very good choice for the tutorial design, It's the first thing that caught my eye to try it out!
On the other hand, all the other important details were hidden in a "help folder" that took me a while to notice it's there. I think maybe a pulsing glow effect could fix that.
Lastly, unless I didn't fully understand the instructions, the signal timeout felt way too fast for me to complete the signals after the first one.
Thanks for finishing up and posting this entry! Nice little minigame! Good luck on your next project!
Actually, all the important information can be found in the ‘Help’ folder; it’s a remnant of the original design. As an aside, right at the start of the project, I wanted to go for a lighter information-gathering game, in the spirit of ‘Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes’, or even possibly convert the folder to PDF to stay closer to the reference and even more so to the theme (the transmission of information/signals). When I realised that this would take too long to produce and would be very tedious to test on my own, I opted for a more traditional time management system.
I’ll probably do a small update to make it appear in the background or open it when the level starts, before the signal search actually begins.
I may also have been a bit heavy-handed with the balancing; if I do a patch, I think I’ll add a bit of time to find the signals.
