Criminal Does Not Dream of Wizard Boy Policeman by havearollonthefloor

[raw]
made by havearollonthefloor for Ludum Dare 59 (COMPO)

For some reason, I can't update the version on the Ludum website. Please try the itch.io version instead!!! The game was created by me in 48 hours :D This was my first time using FL Studio and Aseprite. I'd never made pixel art or music before. Good luck, have fun!

This was a lot of fun, I even beat the challenge mode! The powerup that changes all the signals to the same color seemed maybe a bit over-powered  Nice entry!

The mechanics is very fun and creative to play with!
This game needs practice and skill to become good at (sort of a typing game? But more than just typing because you also need to use mouse).
Some small suggestions from a personal pov:
I feel switching lanes with the arrow bar would be more intuitive, or w for up and s for down because arrow bar and mouse are not compatible. Then the color can be r for red, g for green, etc. Like in the typing game Cook Serve Delicious, foods are represented by their initial letter which make them really easy to remember and fun to type with.
Anyways, really fun game, I love how besides typing, you also have to do different shapes with mouse which adds a layer of chaos. I didn't care too much about the select upgrade part though, maybe because I didn't want to read, just wanted to get back into action.

Very interesting! Some very fancy mechanics going on here. This game was very challenging to learn because there was a lot to remember at once (I appreciated the in-game guide to picking colors). It seems like the sort of thing that someone could quickly become quite good at with some practice, though. An approach where the complexity builds over time (start with only a few colors, then add more one at a time) would probably work well, but of course there's only so much that you can implement over the course of a jam. Really cool entry!

Красавчик егорик сигма механика, мне понравилось, игра не душная и добрая, у нее низкий картизол! визуал топ и музыка тоже гига красавчик!

Very Interesting Concept, I can see this working really well as a mobile game, I struggle a bit with a laptop trackpad but otherwise very cool!

It's great to see such mechanics, considering how much time was spent on its development, and even with the presence of a full-fledged tutorial.

з.ы. название шикарно

Cool a fellow colour combiner game. I liked the way that colours are selected with the handy onscreen display so I didn't have to remember any combo. A bit of polishing and some cool particle effects while drawing would probably turn this into a fully fledged game. Very nice!

@cogcomp Thank you very much for your feedback! What kind of effects would you like to see while drawing? Maybe some kind of paint splatter?

love the shape drawing mechanic! Combined with the power-up system, this was a really fun time. :)

Easy to learn but hard to master. Very neat implementation of drawing to produce magic.

This was certainly a unique game for me. I had to switch to my tablet to draw because I am bad with a mouse, but I had fun with it. One issue I ran into was I could not see the symbols for the cars in lane 1 on the embedded build. Great job.

It’s an interesting idea, but I didn’t quite get it and couldn’t draw it for some reason![photo_2026-04-24_13-24-58.jpg](///raw/25b/76/z/728ee.jpg)

very interesting idea, it's fun to draw the shapes in different colors. somehow I always wanted to switch lanes with the up/down arrow keys, so maybe that's something that could be added later :)

@irkar Oh! I see that you are playing the embedded build of the game. To be honest, I thought this part of the Ludum site was broken and that's why I didn't update it. Please play the itch.io version, most of the bugs have been fixed and a big rebalance has been introduced!I also updated the embedded version. Anyway, sorry for my mistake.

@msipp27 This is sad :( I tested on different people and tried to fix the bugs of the system if it could not determine the shape of a figure due to the person’s drawing style. For example, my mother drew very small figures that the system could not determine and I fixed it. Apparently, it is quite difficult to prepare it for the style of each person, sorry :(

@msipp27 If you played the embedded version, then there is a chance that its drawing system was not updated at the time of your game, cus I uploaded all the changes to itch.io. Could you tell me if you played the itch or embedded version?

Great game, had a lot of fun trying memories the color combos and shapes.
Dunno if I could survive challenge mode, though I might give it a try for my second run. GG!

The tutorial is bugged out and I can't seem to draw the cyan line, in a way the game recongises. Tried drawing up and down, and tried drawing on the white line as well as the triangle and the magenta square as well in all orders.

Very fun and well polished, nice job! The shape detection worked well. I would have liked to see a longer main game or endless mode with more of a difficulty curve. :)
