Only minor nitpick : you can OOB somewhere at the bottom of the map
Then I realized you guys were working on this as a 5 man team.. but thats even more impressive that you got this all managed in such a short time! Like I really like the art, the logo, the sounds. I like the vibe and the controls.
I wasnt quite sure that I could shoot with the shot gun using lmb at first (I mean my brain shouldve gone: Woah shotgun. Pew pew! but it didnt so for my first run I didnt shoot a single bullet but still managed to get the engine upgrade somehow..)
But really nice work guys! Especially the logo looks really nice imo! Keep up the good work!
Oh and what I found, but this might just be me personally: Having to shoot the sharks twice felt kind of too hard and felt like the focous of me driving fast was kind of limited too much by me having to wait till I can shoot again at the shark(s) that is/are in my way! But nevertheless really nice! :3

The guy in the suit alone is an easy five stars for humor. The game is very charming and engaging, with a strong sense of the unknown, and every new point of interest feels exciting to discover. The characters are drawn beautifully and really add to the overall style.
Some moments can feel a bit unfair without prior knowledge though. For example, the mermaids were confusing at first. I expected them to sing, but instead they just repeat words, and it took me a few tries to realize I shouldn’t listen to them.
There’s also a small issue with color indication. It works well overall, but one red marker overlaps with the general enemy color, and since the captain is also red, I almost couldn’t see him on the map.
The balance is excellent. Progression feels smooth, with steady upgrades to shotgun power, health, and speed. I really liked how new threats like anglers and tentacles are introduced over time.
However, anglers and sharks look dangerous at first, but don’t react if you shoot them from a distance. They just kind of stay in place, which feels a bit off. It would be much more fun if they actually started hunting the player.
The final boss is too noisy and a bit too easy. Maybe some strong music instead of the current sound effects would make the fight feel more epic. After dealing with sharks and anglers, beating the boss on the first try felt a bit underwhelming.
About visibility and screen framing, I’d prefer to better see that everything around is darkness. Right now the view feels a bit frustrating and tense, not always in a good way, even if it adds some atmosphere.
The mix of 2D and 3D is really well done. At first I even thought the boat was fully 3D. The rocks and environment look great, and the particle effects and sound design support the atmosphere nicely. The moments of silence work especially well for immersion.
I really liked the responsive controls; they were easy to use. I was very pleased with the graphics and art; they were beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. The pixel art is pleasing to the eye. I really enjoyed shooting the shotgun. In a panic, I tried to shoot the tentacles.
It seemed like my HP was draining really quickly.
Thank you for a wonderful game; you did a great job!
