Congrats on your first entry! The mood felt nice, not sure to understand the link between the enemy boats and the wifi but managed to clear them anyway :)

That was fun, i got to a level where i just could not get away from the other boats.

Not sure how to get away either. Do you need to position your marker over the top of the frequency hump?

@baknik You disable the boats by being close to them while your marker is close to the frequency hump. So you have to dodge the enemy boats by steering around them, while hacking them.

Interesting idea but I think it needs a little bit more instructions. Steering the boat around feels nice though. Congrats on your first LD!

Like that you need to steering the boat and change the signal at the same time :)
at first it was unclear what to do, but later it was pretty easy
congrats!

Congratulations on your first LD entry! Nice short game, I feel a little variation on enemies; or on the signal mini-game could go a long way. Right now the mini-game stays exactly the same between levels, which means that when you set the signal indicator in place on the first level, you can finish the game without ever touching it again. You could perhaps randomize it between levels, or perhaps even randomize it at set intervals or between boats while the level is still running.

Congratulations with your first game for LD. But the idea looks kinda weird, boats, wifi... i get the relation, but im not sure this is the best you can do. Still, jam is a jam, all the games are unique.

Nice! I don't think I totally got the game, reading the other comments, but I managed at some point to get far away from the red boat and not die. It was nice sailing with the boat though. :)

I did it! I agree with what others have said that it's not entirely clear what to do at first, but after getting the hang of it I enjoyed playing. I do wish there was a health bar or some sort of indication how close an enemy boat was to being disabled. I found myself wanting to play games of chicken with them at times, but without knowing how much "damage" they had taken it was really a gamble. Otherwise, this was fun and a great first LD. Nice work!

Some instructions would have certainly helped get started quicker, but the game controlled really well where it mattered in avoiding the enemy ships.

cool idea, i needed to know what level i was on and how many levels there were though. i got through 4 and then quit since i wasnt going to push to see the win screen without knowing how much time or effort it was going to take

took me a while to understand it full xD the only thing that really hurt me was the offbeat in the soundtrack, very solid first entry congrats!

This is a great first entry! I like how, because the enemies' signals only appear when you get close to them, you have no option but to put yourself at risk to disable them. The graphics and music were simple, but worked pretty well. Some sound effects would be nice, though, to provide some feedback for receiving signals / disabling enemies / getting killed.

I do think the game was perhaps a little too easy, though... the fuel/speed mechanic is a good idea, but in practice I never had any reason not to be at 100% speed. Any lower than that was a death sentence while circling enemies, and I had more than enough fuel to complete all the levels without worrying about running out (indeed, I never dipped below 25% in my whole playthrough!). The later levels, as a result, weren't any more _difficult_ than the earlier ones; they just took longer. Making the fuel consumption less generous could force players to make tough decisions - like, maybe you would have to try to herd multiple enemies together to knock them out in quick succession, since otherwise circling each of them individually to disable them would use too much fuel.

@python-b5 I love making hard games, so my feedback from other gamejams was typically that my games were too hard. I agree that I overcorrected and made it too easy.

Like others have said, it's a bit difficult to understand what to do. Congrats on finishing though.
