For feedback, I very much welcome and prefer harsh criticism! (and you'll always get a heart for that :)

This game was an attempt at making something with more narrative and atmosphere (and art) than I usually do. I'm always in awe at games that manage to feel immersive and tell interesting stories, so I'm trying to explore this more.

As such, I'm particularly grateful for any feedback regarding these aspects!

Really liked the art style, soundtrack reminded me of Fez! The tuning mechanics might need a little more feedback as I got confused when tuning but eventually got it! Bonus points for a Linux build!

The noisy text coming together during tuning was very satisfying. The loop is a nice touch. Makes me think of a possible longer version where you play through it multiple times and get more information each time or something like that.

Your game gave me Outer wilds like "vibes". I figured out the ending before the last conversation but it's well done.
The graphics are simple but the artistic direction is really good.
The atmosphere is really cool.
This is a solid game !

Really liked the "simple" graphics. I felt confused about the descrambling of the text. It did not seem to ever fully reveal the text even though I dragged the slider around.

Rating given - and ignored the fact that I'm stupid

Pretty good mood rating from my side - especially given the "simplicity" of it

Loved the story and mood of this one. I want more of this with branching paths and more mystery to uncover. Very well done!

I loved the mood and the humorous dialogue. I would have liked to have had options in the game, especially since the main character is infuriating stupid. With only half the letters missing of the ship type in the distress signal, it should be way easier to interpolate the ship id, than the location.

This was awesome! I was immediately completely into the story (which is very nicely written) and wanted to know what would happen next. The repetitive tasks made it kind of zen which was cool.

Also a big shoutout for the music, I really like how you layered more sounds after each scene! It really adds to the vibes.

The graphics are pretty well made, this is no programmer art. But it could use a little more 'juice'.

All in all, it is a very fun and complete entry, nice!

I loved the atmosphere, story, art and sounddesign! The decoding mechanic could maybe give a bit more feedback for when you're close to the sweet spot.

You know what, the decryption game mechanic was so clever because it felt like I was uncovering a real signal, even though no real-world encryption actually jumbles up letters like that. Like, it didn't break the immersion. You somehow made me feel like I was decrypting better than any AAA title could do.

Awesome game! Great job with the writing, I got invested in the story right away. The decoding mechanic was also fun, I liked how the sound changed as you were getting closer to the correct answer so you had another indicator for how close you were. Well done!

It took a moment for me to figure out I was supposed to hold the signal at the right spot based on the level of the white noise sounds, but neat mechanic.

Got drawn into the story a bit, although it didn't take long to see where it was going. I wish there was a bit more to the story though.

Wow! The audio really makes this, IMO. I tried the web build and ran into audio crackling issues at first (probably just my computer being old and Linux) and almost muted it but I'm glad I didn't and instead ran the native build (where the audio was fine). You could kind of see the time travel coming a mile away but the whole thing was entertaining regardless! The only thing I'd complain about is that it didn't really feel like I had a whole lot of agency. The bed and the tea chair ended up just being fancy "next line" buttons, and despite me deciding to turn back the ship continued forward anyway, which makes me think my choice didn't matter.

Very nice short story! I saw it coming but it didn't make the the journey or destination any lesser. I did play through twice just to see if that last choice made a difference, kinda glad it didn't though- can't have a paradox if you can escape it!

Fantastic entry! Really loved how the radio tuning combined with the narrative to build the tension and great sound and art. So much vibes. Pretty much only tiny note is I kept clicking on the blinking radio light thinking it was interactive.

@henk The audio crackling issues are a known Godot problem for web builds unfortunately :( It wasn't happening on my end so I was hoping it would be fine, so thanks for pointing that out!

Total 60s sci-fi vibes! Loved that touch where the text changes with the static.

The gameplay is a bit simple, but I really love the space exploration atmosphere. It would be even more interesting if there were more changes in the view outside the window as the story progresses, or if more scenes were added! 🚀🌌✨

The Grandfather Paradox is exactly what I've been thinking about for the past few months. Good work. Sure, a couple of mechanics could have been added for variety, but it seems like the story is enough that I just fly, drink tea, and sometimes sleep, just like in real life.

A fun story game with nice radio tuning mechanic. Had a really fitting mood and atmosphere with the audio too, good work!

The visuals are quite charming, and the mechanics reminded me of playing with a radio as a kid, fiddling with the dial to try and pick up all sorts of signals. The atmosphere of space and solitude actually lends itself well to self-reflection and a certain melancholy.

Love the story here, when everything clicked at the end it was such a cool moment. You created an amazing atmosphere and all the pieces came together so well, especially for a compo game! You did ask for harsh criticism, and I honestly don't have too much feedback, but there's a few things I'd recommend:

1. I think the tuning could've been more satisfying than it was when it "clicks" at the end. Initially I didn't even realize how the tuning worked (I thought you were turning it directly, not "setting the direction" for it to turn on its own, if that makes sense). But once I figured it out, I was always a little disappointed it didn't click into place and make a little clicking sound, or something like that. It felt like I got "close enough", when I really wanted to precisely find the right frequency, even if it would auto-lock into place.

2. The audio on the web build was all messed up for me. Sounded like it was cutting out every half-second or something like that, not sure how to describe it. But I had to use the Windows build because of that.

3. I would've liked a log of the dialogue and decoded messages if possible. I tend to zone out during story-heavy games, which did happen here, and I would've liked an opportunity to go back and read what I'd missed. It's not super necessary and the zoning out is definitely a flaw on my end hahaha, but it's something I would've appreciated.

But overall amazing work, one of my favorite so far from this jam!

That art style really drew me in, it's somehow retro but modern, and sketchy but clean all at the same time. The narrative was good, and the minigame was fun, but it was all a bit lean in the interactivity department. I didn't feel I was having much of an affect on the progression. I also realised where the story was heading pretty early on which didn't help my feeling of being an observer rather than a player. I did enjoy it though and stayed all the way through to the end. All-in-all a great entry. Good stuff :8ball:

This was great! The story is short, but also doesn't feel rushed. The sketchy art style is neat, too. The ending was quite interesting, though I was a bit confused since I was pretty sure I had selected "turn back", which the game didn't appear to respond to. Perhaps I just misread something, though.

Fantastic game! I really love the decrypt mechanic, it looks cool and feel great. I believe it would have been slightly better if we had to release the click before it validates the correct tune. Really nice story, perfect length. Cool art style. Congrats!
