A little sleep definitely wouldn't hurt our artist.
I noticed that it's much faster and more practical to drag the mouse across the screen instead of searching for the exact location of the signal, which somewhat defeats the purpose of using the detector or signals.
But, it's great to see the crabs working for you.
Good Game!
Also, I could rebalance exactly this part of the game because it sounds reasonable. If ludum rules allows me to do that...
love the cute crab sprites, easy going music and the radar detector mechanic.
easy going game thats fun to max out. glad to see a fellow crab lover in the jam <3
I had a lot of fun beating this! The crabs are adorable!
Theres lots of room to keep going with this and I hope you do. I would recommend getting a free build onto itch (or whichever shopfront you choose) and also putting it on IncrementalDB to generate some traffic (it will probably end up on there eventually anyways)
The metal detector sometimes feels like it doesnt hit everything im dragging it over, I really want to be able to go mad and wiggle it crazily on the beach.
Would love to see more content, such as prestiges, the beach zooming out, or any other fun mechanics you have cooking. Maybe you could involve the ocean in some way?
@hjmw Thanks for the feedback!
We originally planned to add prestiges, artifacts, and even a slot machine (with tickets from the floating bottles), but after assessing our capacity, we decided to focus on polishing the game instead.

As for the metal detector - initially, the idea was for players to search for treasure more thoughtfully (as discussed in the comments above), but then I realized it's actually more fun when the search happens faster. I ended up settling on a middle ground - the metal detector has a slight delay (literally 0.05s) before registering a treasure when you hover over it.
We'll think about further game developing and publishing it on itch(or any other platform).
Edit: New High score, easy!! Come and beat me

Lovely visuals and sounds
That dopamine face you make when the billions start rolling in:

The volume settings are missing, but the game is ready :)
I didn't feel like I was getting something valuable.
The metal detector's sound was missing. I understand why you didn't add it, as it would have become boring for the player over time, as the mining process is fast.
It would also be nice to have sound settings. The sound was very loud at the beginning.
It might be interesting to focus on leveling up the crabs and adding new species.
Thank you for the game!
The game gets addictive super fast—adding crabs was such a great call!
Only thing: the balance. Prices or upgrading coin value are just astronomical—I couldn't unlock a single upgrade in 15 minutes of play.
Huge thanks for the game! Wishing you all the best in polishing it further—the idea is totally worth it! 🚀

Cool game
I think I can stop for now 😅. It was funny that at first I would lay down dozens of "X"s and had to dig them myself because they didn't dig them for me fast enough, but by the end even when I tried spreading them across the beach they were sooo fast, most of them didn't even need to move to clean them up.
