Nowhere Station by JCoMcL

[raw]
made by JCoMcL for Ludum Dare 59 (JAM)

The gloomy town lights make you sleepy. Consumed by the weight of your own sin, you stare out of the carriage window, glaring into the void. Your mind is slipping through, and you wake up on a bench surrounded by fog and everlasting silence, only violated by passing ghostly trains.

How did you get here? Will you be able to escape? Will you live through the remorse?

The atmosphere is really deep, its uneasy. The story is twisted, interesting and emotional. Nice game! I wish I could actually walk around the scene. With this art style, this would be so intense. It absolutely looked to me like I could, but I havent found any way to do so.

Very atmospheric, super creepy for sure. It feels like swimming in remorse, occasionally come to breathe in the complementary dread.

The visuals felt kind of all over the place and didnt really match, and there wasnt all that much to do either. But the atmosphere was genuinely pretty good.

@marumari hell yeah man. I appreciate the honesty. It was really down to the wire making this, there are so many temp assets leftover it's not even funny. (it's a little funny)

The visuals are interesting and the audio is nice, but I'm just not a fan of text-based games on game jams. I guess this game just isn't for me.

I got the ending "lost man" and it was nice round although I very rarely play visual novel style games The narrative, audio and the mood were on point. I wished the background visuals were also hand drawn (i think they are now 3d modeled?)

The choice of color palette is very cool, but for me the game turned out to be too much text.

Its not the type of game I usually play, but it’s really well done! The atmosphere and visuals, along with the well chosen color palette, are really impressive.

A game in the style of Disco Elysium, but with its own original story.
An ambitious project that may not be fully appreciated by a large number of players within the scope of a game jam. It seems to me that there aren’t enough illustrations for this kind of game, which makes the dialogues feel overloaded, although it’s clear that a huge amount of work was done during the game jam. Well made, great art, the style is consistent — that’s impressive. I enjoyed playing it :)
