Signal Rush by Pavel.Cherepanov

[raw]
made by Pavel.Cherepanov for Ludum Dare 59 (COMPO)

THE GAME IS NOT FINISHED!

This is my first Ludum Dare participation and my first attempt at the Compo. It was supposed to be an Idler or a Tycoon, but there wasn't enough time and energy.

Please at least rate the visual style.

Even though there's not much to do, I played this for longer than I'd care to admit. Just the simple click and collecting was satisfying the way you had it set up with the signal timing. Combined with chill visuals its a good base for an idle game. Just needs the next mechanical step to go further.

Of course it's sad you could not finish it but it's promising... I love the visuals and art direction ! It's satisfying even in this state.

Add an incremental economy and it looks like it could turn out to be a really good game)

You could make this a simple but nice game with a bit more content and mechanics. The base visualization is nice already. I could see myself playing this for a few hours.

You're being way too modest. The visual style is incredibly comfortable to look at, and the gameplay choice fits perfectly. The way it ties into the theme is just right. This is a work with serious potential. Overall, well done!

A bit short bit it's amazing hot little it can take to make a game that feels satisfying to play. Looks nice too! Great job for a compo game!

Nice attempt for compo, unfortunate you ran out of time. Did you have any minigame planned for the signal metronome timer thing? I think that would be cool if it had a minigame similar to the stardew valley fishing minigame.

You’ve got a really cool concept here! The next step would be to add a city and a deadline for capturing it with radio towers, so you can broadcast propaganda across the whole city and earn more coins, especially considering future upgrades. Great game!

I have played only few idlers, but this concept really looks like something that would work great mechanically in my opinion. I think you should definitely try to make a proper prototype out of this, city builder + signal money collection sounds fun to me :)

Good start to a project, the style works well and the alignment with the theme is there. I can see the vision you had, there are always just a couple more mechanics that didn't make it, aren't there. Good effort, congratulations on getting something made!

Thank you all for your feedback and support! 🙏 Special thanks to:

@silentwander — thank you for your kind words about the visual style, that's exactly what I focused on the most. Really glad you appreciated it.

@boroboro — glad the game felt satisfying even with its short length. Style and feel were my top priorities.

@oxnh — yes, unfortunately ran out of time.

@cornex — thank you! The visual style and animations are what I really aimed for.

@AO-85 and @fkjaha — great ideas about the city, towers. That sounds like a logical and cool next step for the mechanics — thanks for the inspiration!

@smilewood — you're absolutely right, there are always a couple more mechanics that didn't make it 😄 But I'm glad the vision still comes through.

@BoltDaPikachu234, @starr — thanks for stopping by and appreciating even the simple version.

Once again, huge thanks to everyone for the feedback — it really helps me understand where to go next!

Игра выглядит прикольно, смена дня и ночи кайф, жители чето ходят, собирать деньги тоже прикольно) но я так и не понял что еще делать, жаль не успел игру доделать, был бы топ-1
