SignalM by Thoth

[raw]
made by Thoth for Ludum Dare 59 (JAM)

This is a servival game. You can play Meerkat to monitor the danger and find some bugs by Searching Signals, and use other hunting 屏幕截图 2026-04-20 215103.pngand survive for sevendays.I am playing some hunting games these day and i think that's the reason i try to combine the signal with this cute animal... But this game still has many bugs, its my first LDjam(or even my first game jam)(but i have to review my midtermexam:()So this is a funny experience, i hope i will do it better in next games:) 屏幕截图 2026-04-20 215154.png

Very cute graphics. Liked the idea of having two types of meerkats to search and signal to gather food and protect the group.

I don't know much about meerkats or how accurate this game is to life. But it's very cool. It took me a while to figure out how to play. The UI is clunky but it still works quite well. Congrats on your first jam.

主题比较有趣的一款游戏,但内容稍显不足,可能我的生存时间太短了,我在想是不是后续会有更多种类的土拨鼠出现。如果土拨鼠们根据种类不同会有一些服装/形态上的区别玩起来会更加顺畅。

Cute meerkats! Ui was a bit buggy and stopped showing up. I like the animations a lot

Took a bit but I was able to figure out how to get the meerkats out. Would be nice to be able to move them after they've left the hole. Congrats on your first jam!

OMG is crazy, in my life I could not imagine that you can play gophers, the highest score for originality.

I played just once but I didn't get it. I could deploy the meerkats but I never saw any food or anything. Cute graphics.

Good game! I managed to survive for 5 days and I have enough food stockpiled to keep me alive for a few more. I love the minimalist look and meerkat animations.

The game lacks a tutorial but I figured out how to play somehow by clicking everywhere I could. 😁 Since the game is fairly unique I think the best thing you can do to improve the game needs is to add an interactive tutorial.

Cute, unfortunately the mecahnics are a bit hard to grasp, some flavor text explainging things would have helped

Ah, cool, you made a game about meerkats too! :D

The mechanics are good and well thought out.

Maybe it's because of the web version: I don't see any predators, but the colony is definitely getting smaller and smaller :D

How do you collect the Food

@dennis You need first use the monitor to find the food and use the foodsearcher to collect them:) (it's my problem i didn't make a good tutorial()

Nice entry for a first timer ! Cute graphics :)

You game deserve more feedback (which MK is selected, which button is selected in the hole interface) and a tutorial but for the last I understood quick enough I think.

Had fun, best was Day 4.

Nature is so brutal.. the wolf moves so fast. The last merkat got stuff by the whole and couldn't get back in, all he could do was bark repeated as the wolf approached.
Cute game though, a bit of posh and some bug fixes is all that's needed.

I got up to 32 food but then my hand was tired from a lot of moving and clicking, which felt weird because I could play an FPS for longer without that feeling?

I had fun exploring the system. When I started, I did not understand anything and lost my first game with zero food. But then I figured it out by experimenting, and on my second run I started gaining food faster than I used it. I was able to run usually two "teams" at once, and maybe send out some extra monitors to scan more of the map. It was an interesting design with some ways to interact between the types.

I wonder what this game would be like with really polished controls like hotkeys and clear selection state that would allow for much more action-per-minute, and then threw more at me.

Cool entry! The art was nice, and a very interesting idea well-grounded in the theme. Good job!

This is fun to play around. I think this is a brilliant idea for the theme we got, really. You will get to polish you games in the future jams, keep going and create games!
