Explore the depth of the ocean in your trusty submarine to find treasure. As you get deeper, rely on sonar and radar signals to navigate. Use WASD to move, LMB to sonar, and RMB to pick up treasure.

I was suprised that the terrain does not deal collision damage to the submarine lol

It's a good implementation of the concept. But the game's progression is a bit weak. I don't know why I'm collecting $2000 and what's it for. Maybe that's something worth figuring out post-jam.

But congratulations on finishing the Jam!

@brucezoom Thanks for playing and for reviewing! I agree about the game progression, I had intended to add upgrades and a small story to the game (which the money would be necessary for), but I ran out of time. Sub damage was also intended, but also got neglected after the other scope creep..

With what you said was the plan to add, this would be a really fun game! The background also changing as you go deeper was a nice touch. Hopefully next time you get to implement more of what you wanted to use, but you still did a great job

the game uses the concept in a great way however in this state it's a bit pointless, it has a potential tho, if you work on it some more!

I managed to get down to 16770 meters deep. I went so far in that darkness the ocean was splitting in the background. The horrors of the deep ocean can be scary, thankfully this game was fun to play! I also collected $11500, even without anything to spend it on it was fun to find and collect it. A nice touch that deeper chests give more money as well. The audio was on the loud side, though I can understand very well that getting a good sound balance is tricky. It would be interesting to see what this game could be like with some more time put into it, good job!

It was an interesting concept! The gamefeel felt realistic, as if you really were underwater. Nicely done!

Couldn't figure out which button fired missiles so I could nuke the ocean and free this treasure chest....

(just kidding)

Neat game, obviously I was looking for the upgrade mechanic which looks like there wasn't time for. Classic Ludum Dare things :)

You did a great job in creating a good vibe as you go deeper, nice job on that!

@jezzamon Ooops.. the generation algorithm is supposed to check the tiles above the chests before placing them, to make sure that this doesn't happened. Maybe theres a bug in that part of the code. Missiles are a fun idea for an upgrade though. Thanks for playing!
