Leap into a whimsical world where charm meets challenge in a delightful 2.5D stylized pixel art environment. Designed with a cute, enchanting aesthetic, this game will whisk you away to a fantastical realm where speed is the flavor you need to collect and deliver your coffee as fast as possible.
You won’t have to do this alone, with the help of your trusty frog summon called “Bean” and your enthusiastic goat summon called Brew no challenge will be impossible for you.
There is a Windows build available, which is recommended to avoid glitching audio. For playing the web build, the versin on itch.io is recommended.

Edit: Goat direction has been improved in 1.0.1
Very stylish, cute and beautiful game! Would be really cool to see a full version of it anywhere, but even like this it's very fun and cool. Slight weird sound buffering issues at some places, but it doesn't stop from enjoying the game ^^
The concept of having vertical and horizontal jumps be consumable summons is hilarious. A nice way to turn standard movements into a puzzle mechanic. There were definitely some spots here and there where I had trouble getting around, and in a few occasions the chaos of several frogs clumping together and sending me flying at crazy speed actually helped me finish a level.
Very cool work, a great entry!
Amazing job you guys this is a great game :3
Took me 6:30 and I got 24 points
smooth paralax and nice choice for colors
the sounds are so sweet and well placed
man this is kinda addictive
I feel however at least in the web version there is some framerate drop when the camera kinda moves around.
the choice for controls clicking on space and shift makes me feel less ... less agile ... playing this with a controller must be a blast.
man this feels so cool I could play this for quite a while.
awesome juicy entry!

By the way, you can run to the left and out of the world in level 7 :P
Also that last level is hilarious. Love this entry, great work y'all
Now... can someone become the GOAT and beat me?

And, btw, if you have the time and energy, could you take a look at the game made by my friend (not mine)? He has also created a fantastic game with great gameplay and artistic effects; it's just that it hasn't quite caught everyone's attention yet. I hope this isn't too presumptuous of me, and regardless, I offer my heartfelt thanks. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/55/squiggle-sorcery
We are happy that we managet to bring a fun and joyful experience into life in such a short amount of time.
I will def check out your friends game :') and do not worry, it is the happiest to show other peoples games around. Every participant put all the love into the jam on this weekend and each game deserves to be seen :'D
I did occasionally find the goat spawning a bit too fiddly to get right, and I found that the walk movement slowing down on the inclined bits of ground broke up the flow of things a bit.
Good game overall though and the art is really lovely!

And I'm the host for the ludum dare score chasers tournament this Ludum Dare. Wanted to ask if youre fine if I put some gameplay of the game in an intermission video. Last year for reference:

We're totally cool with you using footage from our game. 🙂
@paulsams there are some crazy souls (POSITIVELY!!!) speedrunning this game. I couldn't imagine them going for sub 0:50. It took myself about 7 minutes the first time I played the full game myself, but also managed to spend way more time in it. It is so exciting to see people use the games mechanics in ways we didn't plan the levels out to be played :'))))
I found the movement a bit tricky -- I think the floaty feeling was probably part of the intended design, but when you combine it with how unforgiving the core mechanic is (you only get to dash a limited number of times, jump a limited number of places, etc), I found myself feeling like I didn't have a ton of control.
The only part that got me a little frustrated was the janky physics sometimes, but that is to be expected in a game made in such a short time-frame. Everything else is very much polished and I liked the art style you used!
@bumble HORRAY another one joined our speedrunning cult haha :'D The janky physics have actually lead to interesting moments in speedrunning I must say. There are some cool mechanics people found out about, some even consistently use in the speedruns :')) Always makes me happy to see some levels I worked on being finished completly differently
Amazing game overall!
The mix of pixel art and more modern graphics goes well together.
I like the sound ambiance too, but sometimes the sound is choppy when I'm bouncing around and freezes when there's a scene change.
Nice game!
The audio issue is generated due to the browser build. If you want to experience the game without any audio lags, you can download the windows build right below. There everything is super fine :)
Watching others play your game can be extremely insightful, so I recorded my playthrough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gd61N0lkwSE
At a certain point the character gave up on being controlled by someone so bad and decided to leave the game. So I finished the game alone.

:D
Congratulations!
One thing that was a little annoying to me was how the main character (do they have a name?) would lose speed if they touch a wall or even when landing. Especially when trying to speedrun, it's a bit of a drag when you miss a jump cause you barely bumped a wall.
Another thing that was a little weird to me was the delay between summoning and getting boosted. I mean logically it makes sense, but in terms of gameplay it feels kinda unresponsive. It's especially frustrating in situations like... moving so fast that your frog spawns in a wall, or trying to dash while falling and seeing your goat fly past you over your head :sob:
Minor issues aside, this is a great game with plenty of replayability, awesome job!
The theme is well integrate too :D
## XD
The gameplay in itself was very novel, albeit a tad frustrating. We also had some audio glitching, which was kinda interesting?
Great work anyways!
