I don't care who the IRS sends by BlueDandelion
Hi! Thanks for checking out my page! Originally, this game was supposed to be released for the full 3 days jam. However, I remembered that I have an exam coming soon, thus I decided to rush development. So, I apologize if the game is unpolished.
You have not paid your taxes in months. As a result, the government has started sending tax collectors to your house. Stop them from taking your money by setting up defenses. However, it is only a matter of time until they overwhelm you. To win you must gather 1 million dollars in order to escape to mars, where you will not need to pay taxes ever again. How will you get so much money? Well, by buying and selling rare collector's items of course.
Short Tutorial: - Hold left click on your computer to generate money - click on the gem button to open the marketplace, where you can buy and sell items to make more money - buy defenses to protect against enemies (shield button) - buy upgrades for your computer, which allows for passive income (first button) - click on an enemy to damage it
GUIDE
If for some reason you have trouble beating the game, here are some tips: - Start by buying 2 crypto mining upgrades, then stockpile on items (especially early on) they will become more and more valuable as the game progresses (you can buy multiple items of the same type, very useful for legendary and rare items) - Buy 4 spikes and a dog at the start, it should be enough to beat all enemies in the first minute - Don't forget to check the market when it resets!
Updates: - I made the music louder (it was hard to hear before) - Made it slightly even louder

Very fun game! Juggling money generation and defense made it very tense, my first few attempts were squashed by me getting too greedy and going for too much income too soon. But that last run, it just went perfectly right, getting the robot just as I need it and bang, even the guys with shields couldn't do anything anymore. Awesome design with the difficulty balance, super fun to play! Art and sound design are top notch as well, I love the animation of the crypto mining and the assets slowly filling up the house, that makes it feel great. Like when you hold the PC and it just speeds up, and you really feel the number going up faster, I love it. Again, awesome on those fronts as well! Super fun game, great job!
I really like that I can just hold the mouse button to mine $ instead of repeatedly clicking. It seems like a small thing, but it makes or breaks the game in my opinion.
I didn't really use the market though, just bought the upgrades. And I think some enemies will steal your money even if all security upgrades are bought...
What really stood out for me was the concept - tax inspectors constantly interrupting your crypto mining :)
Appreciated the strategic element of timing your purchases. Failed my first two attempts by buying mining equipment right before getting robbed - learned to wait for quiet moments :)
Overall, your game is really good with a strong core concept. Well done.
I don't know if that was a design decision, but I'd prefer that opening upgrade shop, either defense, money or collectors items would pause the game. I ran one game without trying to win just to read up the descriptions. When the game isn't paused, you loose all the appeal of collectible items visuals, funny descriptions etc. that you must have spent time to make them pretty. If you can't pause, these are just numbers.
Kudos!
Interesting mix of tower defense and clicker. Good game ^_^
With a few balance tweaks, I could totally see myself playing for minutes or even hours.
Nice entry!
