I don't care who the IRS sends by BlueDandelion

Hi! Thanks for checking out my page! Originally, this game was supposed to be released for the full 3 days jam. However, I remembered that I have an exam coming soon, thus I decided to rush development. So, I apologize if the game is unpolished. 2025-10-05 19 21 01.png 2025-10-05 19 25 09.png You have not paid your taxes in months. As a result, the government has started sending tax collectors to your house. Stop them from taking your money by setting up defenses. However, it is only a matter of time until they overwhelm you. To win you must gather 1 million dollars in order to escape to mars, where you will not need to pay taxes ever again. How will you get so much money? Well, by buying and selling rare collector's items of course.

Short Tutorial: - Hold left click on your computer to generate money - click on the gem button to open the marketplace, where you can buy and sell items to make more money - buy defenses to protect against enemies (shield button) - buy upgrades for your computer, which allows for passive income (first button) - click on an enemy to damage it

GUIDE

If for some reason you have trouble beating the game, here are some tips: - Start by buying 2 crypto mining upgrades, then stockpile on items (especially early on) they will become more and more valuable as the game progresses (you can buy multiple items of the same type, very useful for legendary and rare items) - Buy 4 spikes and a dog at the start, it should be enough to beat all enemies in the first minute - Don't forget to check the market when it resets!

Updates: - I made the music louder (it was hard to hear before) - Made it slightly even louder

Nice game! I made it to the Mars but I must admit it took a couple of tries :) Graphics are very nice! And I also like simple gameplay and it's quite fun! I'd like to have the game paused during the upgrade menu is opened so I have more time to browse the options. But it's a detail. Good job!

Haha, I did it I escaped to Mars! Better invest into space shuttles, IRS!

Very fun game! Juggling money generation and defense made it very tense, my first few attempts were squashed by me getting too greedy and going for too much income too soon. But that last run, it just went perfectly right, getting the robot just as I need it and bang, even the guys with shields couldn't do anything anymore. Awesome design with the difficulty balance, super fun to play! Art and sound design are top notch as well, I love the animation of the crypto mining and the assets slowly filling up the house, that makes it feel great. Like when you hold the PC and it just speeds up, and you really feel the number going up faster, I love it. Again, awesome on those fronts as well! Super fun game, great job!

This was quite stressful xD took me a while to figure out the necessarily defense. I think it would have been nice if just hovering over the PC would have generated the money :)

I like the concept. The variety of upgrades was nice. Near the end I did not do enough damage even with all the upgrades to stop the bad guys, which felt kinda bad, but I was making enough money it didnt matter if they took some. It was hard to tell what some of the bigger numbers were for buying upgrades, maybe doing 1,000,000 instead of 1000000 would make it easier to tell. I think background music wouldve added a lot aswell.

Nice game, I managed to beat it on third try after I found the perfect strategy. 😁 I liked the concept of an incremental where you can actually lose. And the money-printing theme works well here.

I really like that I can just hold the mouse button to mine $ instead of repeatedly clicking. It seems like a small thing, but it makes or breaks the game in my opinion.

I didn't really use the market though, just bought the upgrades. And I think some enemies will steal your money even if all security upgrades are bought...

@nomelu Thanks for the feedback! The game does have background music though, are you sure you had your sound turned on properly?

Amazing incremental + TD mashup. Love the collectible item variety. Could be further expanded into a full release. Good job!!

Great game! I laughed when I read the setting and the idea was executed quite well. It gets a bit challenging when the second type of enemy shows up and immediately grabs a lot of money. I also saw there is comment mentioning the background music. Thd volume of background music is a bit low and I almost missed it at first.

@rol Thanks for the comment! Yes the music volume value seems to be an issue, I made it louder, could you please check the web version for a second to see if it's ok now?

Really clever and well done mash up of idle/clicker game and tower defense. Would love to play this on iOS.

I checked the web version and the music volume is more reasonable now!

really enjoyed this, first time i lost because i was eating what the items did, but second time I won! seemed to gain a lot of money very fast towards the end, so maybe needed a little bit of balancing, but it was fun

Hey, I played your game and I think you're being too hard on yourself calling it unpolished. Everything looks solid, I had a good time with it.

What really stood out for me was the concept - tax inspectors constantly interrupting your crypto mining :)

Appreciated the strategic element of timing your purchases. Failed my first two attempts by buying mining equipment right before getting robbed - learned to wait for quiet moments :)

Overall, your game is really good with a strong core concept. Well done.

I liked it enough to spend a lot of time to make it to the finish  Well done

I don't know if that was a design decision, but I'd prefer that opening upgrade shop, either defense, money or collectors items would pause the game. I ran one game without trying to win just to read up the descriptions. When the game isn't paused, you loose all the appeal of collectible items visuals, funny descriptions etc. that you must have spent time to make them pretty. If you can't pause, these are just numbers.

@haayaargh Thanks for the feedback! Honestly I didn't put much thought into whether opening a menu pauses the game or not, as the description says I didn't have a lot of time, so I just published the game when I thought it was decently balanced lol. Hopefully next jam I'll have more time to think about the finer details.

Pretty trick, but I finally managed to get to Mars! I wish it were maybe slightly easier and longer, but very nice game nevertheless!

That took a few tries! And it's well balanced enough that buying and selling trinkets was required for me to do it. Nice game!

That's a very fun game, loved it. Simple mechanics but great gameplay. I wish the game would pause while buying stuff, but maybe that's intentional to make you feel the urge to rush.
Kudos!

Lots of fun! Well-balanced for a game developed so quickly and lots of fun to boot and I got to mars :-) Pro-tip: to add a quick way to restart a game in a Godot project, you can add a Button that is shown when the game ends, and connect its pressed signal to a function that does get_tree().reload_current_scene(). Voilla! Restart button in 30 secs

I enjoyed playing it. It’s a short simple game.

With a few balance tweaks, I could totally see myself playing for minutes or even hours.

Nice entry!

Like the visuals and the gameplay. Though it was pretty easy to figure out the optimal strategy for defence. Maybe defence degradation might have made it more interesting.
