Pretty fun game to play : ) I have a hard time staying alive until the end so the only way for me to score is to kill a few enemies and then jump down 😂
I liked it
I like the idea! It took me a while to understand how to proceed. Most of these kind of games are about surviving until you're the last one standing, but here you complete the level when you fall down the last platform, but also you have to survive on the platforms and kill as many monsters as you can.
Overall I liked it!
Some little feedback:
- You can easily complete the level just by walking to the edges
- I'd love to have some extra visual feedback on the platforms, maybe tint them red when they're about to break, or have them shake a little bit!
Take it from someone who knows, therapy doesn't work Ciggy. You made the right choice taking out your frustrations on the little smokeys that got you started in the first place. Listening to them was a bad idea. Lesson learned. Fun game, btw. Begging for some screaming guitar >.<
Just noticed there is no health in the embedded version, the itch.io link still contains the health bar though. Sorry for the inconvenience (how did we miss this lmao)
I loved the visuals and sound design here. Gameplay is well implemented, everything is working well. I had one small issue the first time I played that I just teleported somewhere far from the blocks and started falling forever until I completed the level haha Good job for the team, its a cool and well made game.
I like the feedback (camera shaking, red bright ect.) maybe make the plateform more visible when they'll die, but in the concept it's cool ! Hard, but cool
Cute game! Great amount of polish. Gun was suffering from "starter pistol" syndrome and could have definitely been made more fun to shoot :) Gameplay was rather chaotic. Was often getting damaged even when I thought I'd dodged. Also took me some time to figure out there was a jump button as well! Could have been way more immersive with some music! Overall well polished entry and a cute backstory. Thanks!
this game bugged on me quite a lot. sometimes it zooms out to only see grey until you die. sometimes i fall through tiles. but it was a lot of fun and looks really impressive. not that much into voxel but i can appreciate the detail you put in. good job, fix bugs.
The 3D assets are great, but a better shader could have been used. The controls could also be made smoother. I think the SFX were made with your mouth, but it turned out pretty well, lol. Other than that, I liked the NPCs. Overall, it's nice!
Fun little idea and loved the voxel art style. Mechanics were solid enough and game played and looked super great. I did experience the stutters you mentioned on web but it passed quick and didn't hamper overall gameplay by then.
Having multiple levels stacked on top of each other is a fun setup, and a clever interpretation of the theme. The main thing that could be improved is shooting, it could definitely feel punchier. Congrats on your entry!
This game was pretty hard for me. Trying to stay alive while not falling done was quite tricky. It made me think of this minecraft minigame where you are doing a similar thing, but against other players.
Then I read the description and learned that you were meant to jump down quickly XD
I just did not really discover what the black thing at the lowest layer of each level was. Was it something you could defeat? Anyway, really well done!
@wuppos Yes the last thing on levels 2 and 3 is the Demon that shoots lasers in 4 directions as well as bullets. I believe he takes about 7/8 hits.
We balanced the scoring system on leaving tiles up and killing things. Something thats inspired us from other games this year is the amount of scoreboards implemented, which would've been really interesting to see the top scores from people.
Solid game! I love the aesthetics and some flashback from playing Fall Guys. I know 72 hours is a short period. If you wanna develope furthur on this game, I would suggest working on some positive/negative feedback for players and more instructive tutorial. I was stuck on level 2 for 5 times and I don't know what to do. I couldn't figure out how to complete a level.
Solid game! A few wishes if you want to develop it further:
1. On screen indicators for the lasers (or just an effect to know where the beam was about to be). Like the above poster, I died a lot in the second level, every time it was because the laser guys had moved off screen and I was standing right in their beam (I probably stood too still because that impacted score)
2. Pre-spawned enemies in the whole level. Maybe that would make it too chaotic, but I thought it was a bit annoying to wait after dropping for the enemies to spawn.
3. Up teleporters? To maximize killing, maybe at some tradeoff to use.
4. Horde mode!
5. Auto weapons!
6. Rockets and mayhem!
Very fun game! The artstyle was very charming. I did not quite understand what the goal is. Beat the level? then I can just jump of the side. Highscore? How do I get points, every kill is a point? Does time play a role? Does it make any sense to try and survive a level further after I killed all the enemies?
I liked it
Demon killing: ✅
Loved the art and music.
Gameplay loop was tight.
Chaotic fun!

But thankyou for playing!

Good start/jam entry!
I felt like just falling down was more effective than try to fight.
