Build Sim by Nnnnneeeedddd
READ THIS OR THE GAME WILL NOT MAKE SENSE----------------------------
First of all I am very disappointed in this Ludum Dare, I tried to make way to much, and did not have a clear goal during the whole thing!!
What the game was supposed to have:
* It was supposed to have enemies
* You were supposed to have characters on your side.
* You were supposed to be able to command you characters.
* There was supposed to be combat.
* You were supposed to build walls to protect a crystal from enemies.
* Enemies were supposed to be able to break walls.
* The build functions were supposed to be effective and easy to use.
* There were supposed to be resources, which could be mined (stone) and chopped (wood).
Theme: You were supposed to grow the character population, you were also supposed to grow the size of your buildings. Only two mouse buttons are used, this made the game significantly worse, and more difficult to control. This theme could have been good, but was not used effectively.
What I liked:
This game looks really nice, I am very pleased with the timelapse. The 3D model loader was very helpful. Some of the models were good. The style of the incomplete gui was good.I was extremely happy with the player animation. Even though it took very little time (which was also good :D)

I think this LD was an extremely good learning experience, I have never done a LD in modern OpenGL before, and now know how much I can complete.
