340! beat that!
I had a lot of fun. I'm glad I made it through the day. I wish that the score screen lasted longer.
Only little thing i'd have to say, why cant i approach the table to take or place things from the top or bottom, but i can THROU the side where the customer is sitting xd
Nice game! I like the super simplified pixel art style, the sound effects were great, and the game was easy enough to pick up and feel like I mastered it without too much time, perfect for a game jam in my opinion.
Well done!
Seems like the game has changed since the last scoreboard screenshot though? Mine didn't show the number of summons. Strange.
Oh also, it was very satisfying to realize I could give take a menu from someone and give it right to the next person without taking it back.
Only thing I would change is sometimes it was hard to interact with people unless I was standing in exactly the right spot. Would have been nice if that was a bit smoother.
@thoastbot Yeah the interaction range isn't perfect, I tried to make it work as best as I could with a single collider, but it could be a lot better with separate colliders for collision and interaction.
@historymaker118 It's not really a bug, just a result of taking shortcuts making the game. Same goes for the balancing, it ended up being much more random than I wanted it to be.
@cameronpenner Thanks, yes I did change the end screen. I realized the "summons" score was pointless because it's almost the same every run, and I needed to make room to add the "press space" text.
Also I love this game, even if there's already a game called Diner Dash with the same concept, I think you can beat Flo's non-pixelated ass if you had to.
Very fun + the music fits perfectly ! Great job :)
Extremely chunky pixel art, I was underestimating how chunky it could be lol.
Nice minimalist aesthetic, you managed to distill people to an 8x8 tile

The pace was pretty good, and I constantly had something to do. Plenty of feedback is given to know what to do/where to go.
Good job!

My score: $441, 1224 points
@wouter52 Yeah, that seems to be a common point of confusion, the menus really do look more like plates, and there's nothing in-game to indicate otherwise. I might need to redo the pixel art.
I also thought the menus were plates, and after a while I understood that I could take a menu from a client to give it to another client! :joy:
Very joyful and well-balanced entry!

My only wish is that it got faster/harder. I think it would really benefit from a snappier gameplay loop where a level only lasts like 1-2 minutes, but it gets much faster and harder, earlier.
But overall amazing work, it was quite cute art and the music was nice.
