That was nice! Although it gets frantic very soon :D I love the art style with those large pixels. It looks super cute :) It works great all together with the audio and gameplay. Great job!

Graphics are pretty stylized and the mouth noises for audio are great.

Lovely one~ Some grumpy customers those are, those grunts! I wouldn't be surprised if they put a leg in front of me to trip me. Jolly little game, good work! ^^

Such a clever twist on the summoning theme! Very addictive gameplay. reminds me of an arcade cabinet game.

That is the absolute BEST music for what is going on in this game! Very well done! And the sounds were funny. I love the idea of the game and the use of the theme for summoning the waiter! Fantastic job!

"Nrgh!" xD

I had a lot of fun. I'm glad I made it through the day. I wish that the score screen lasted longer.

Funny little diner game, really liked to play it - especially after all those "dark" summoning games, this one was quite the happy one for a change :D

Only little thing i'd have to say, why cant i approach the table to take or place things from the top or bottom, but i can THROU the side where the customer is sitting xd

This is nicely made game, and I like the art style. My only issue is that the difficulty ramps up far too quickly, and I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but sometimes I couldn't give/take things from customers even when standing next to them. A balancing pass on this game would go a long way to making it more fun to play. Good effort for a weekend's work, please continue developing games!

So fun I love serving sims, highly accurate panic and stress serving and queue management. 5/5 Would freak out again. PS Pixel art is so cute!

I love the angry sounds of customers, feels like anyone who ever worked in service can relate :D Super fun, I'd suggest everyone to play with arrow keys + E instead, feels faster that way!

Nice game! I like the super simplified pixel art style, the sound effects were great, and the game was easy enough to pick up and feel like I mastered it without too much time, perfect for a game jam in my opinion.

Well done!

Seems like the game has changed since the last scoreboard screenshot though? Mine didn't show the number of summons. Strange.

Oh also, it was very satisfying to realize I could give take a menu from someone and give it right to the next person without taking it back.

Only thing I would change is sometimes it was hard to interact with people unless I was standing in exactly the right spot. Would have been nice if that was a bit smoother.

@rincs Thanks for playing, I have changed the end screen to require a space press to continue now :)

@thoastbot Yeah the interaction range isn't perfect, I tried to make it work as best as I could with a single collider, but it could be a lot better with separate colliders for collision and interaction.

@historymaker118 It's not really a bug, just a result of taking shortcuts making the game. Same goes for the balancing, it ended up being much more random than I wanted it to be.

@cameronpenner Thanks, yes I did change the end screen. I realized the "summons" score was pointless because it's almost the same every run, and I needed to make room to add the "press space" text.

Man who the fuck grunts the moment they sit down.

Also I love this game, even if there's already a game called Diner Dash with the same concept, I think you can beat Flo's non-pixelated ass if you had to.

love the twist on the theme -- love how I could pick up on what to do even with such a low-res game! I think that speaks to the power of the design. definitely felt the pressure, but just enough to feel really engaged the whole time. great entry

Can't afford to slack in this one or it becomes unmanageable haha

Very fun + the music fits perfectly ! Great job :)

Straightforward game, but fun!

Extremely chunky pixel art, I was underestimating how chunky it could be lol.
Nice minimalist aesthetic, you managed to distill people to an 8x8 tile

I had a hard time getting the tables to take my space when I wanted to leave them my orders, I had to press space several times until they responded. But the game is very interesting and I liked it a lot, good entrance!

Good vibes from a nice chunky pixel game. Action was frantic but never felt overwhelming which is a good balance. I had some issues sometimes delivering orders from certain angles, but it never held me back. Great job!

This was awesome! The colliders could definintely use some work and a bit frustrating at times  It had the perfect amount of hectic pace, charming art/sounds to be quite fun! Keep on making games  ![Screenshot 2024-04-18 203941.png](///raw/6f9/1/z/64659.png)

Overall very solid and functional entry. Truth is that the controls feels bit off simetimes. I am also not a fan of that floor tiling that reminds me of blank canvas in Aseprite :D but that is barelly a complaint. Last thing to mention that I kinda miss the jam theme, although I understand that you were summoned to that place to take orders, but that is just me ;) Good job on your entry!

Well done! I made a very similar game, so I liked seeing your take on it!
The pace was pretty good, and I constantly had something to do. Plenty of feedback is given to know what to do/where to go.

Good job!

What a fun game this was! It was a little unclear to me how to play at first. I thought the menu-thingy was a plate at first  And I did not understand why it can't be put a way, but then I realized that that is a conscious decision! As it spices up the gameplay, I had fun playing yours. Maybe most fun thusfar. The music is so good!

My score: $441, 1224 points

Really solid and well executed entry! The simple graphics look great and consistant and I love the grunts. Got stressed out my first playthrough but got in a flow for the second run and it felt way more fun!

@jin9310 Thanks, I agree the floor doesn't look great, perhaps I should have gone with a wood floor and white tables instead of tiles and wooden tables :D

@wouter52 Yeah, that seems to be a common point of confusion, the menus really do look more like plates, and there's nothing in-game to indicate otherwise. I might need to redo the pixel art.

Nice one!

I also thought the menus were plates, and after a while I understood that I could take a menu from a client to give it to another client! :joy:

Very joyful and well-balanced entry!

I like how much you've conveyed in such few chonky pixels :) About the menus looking like plates, I guess just making them more rectangular instead of square would help (like, 5, maybe even 6 pixels tall instead of 4)

This game was really hectic, but a lot of fun! It took me a bit to figure out how it tied to the theme, but that works pretty well too :)

I love the fast-paced gameplay for this game, it was a lot of fun! It's cool how you were able to convey much of the sprites with such few pixels. It got confusing at first because the menu did look like a plate, and I think it would've helped if it were rectangular instead of a square. Other people have mentioned the sensitive mechanics, but I didn't have too much trouble with it. Good job with your entry!

Overall its a well polished game!
My only wish is that it got faster/harder. I think it would really benefit from a snappier gameplay loop where a level only lasts like 1-2 minutes, but it gets much faster and harder, earlier.

But overall amazing work, it was quite cute art and the music was nice.

After I figured out you could just take a menu from one person and give it to the next person entering things went soooo much faster. Cool little game!
