I didn't expect to see a visual novel where they're quite literally summoning people to the hellish court. Well done. Also I had a bug where voices sometimes won't match their characters.

I really loved this game! The art is amazing and the different typing sounds depending on the character is a nice touch. I'm a big fan of the visual novel style (I did a somewhat similar format for my entry). Overall the level of polish is really cool and although the game was short I felt like it was satisfying to beat!

I had thought of making something based on a court summons and I love the execution here. Combines some great elements and fantastic art.

So well done! I did think the red cloud effect went on for a little long, but that's literally my only criticism. Fantastic game!

Superb art and nice animations, if sparse, to go with it. Sound design is great as well - music fits very well and the different sfx for each character talking are a very nice, juicy detail. The atmosphere is great overall.
The game is written well and fells very polished. Amazingly done!

My client walks free, and I can chill in my condo

This is awesome! the idea is very similar with what we initially came up had for our game but we ultimately went with someone else lol. Good to see a game that fully develops that concept!

I really like the visuals, the artist did a great job on this one. The writing was pretty and entertaining funny,
I replayed it to see what else I missed.

Really good entry!

I do like to see Ace Attorney references in my Ludum Dare

Funnily enough, the first thing that came to my mind after hearing the theme was court summons, but that didn't really inspire my teammates, so I'm glad someone did it. The game's presentation is solid, a giant toad for a judge is perfection. I like that you had different voice bleeps for various characters, although Jaya often went mute and other characters sometimes swapped voices.

To improve it as an Ace Attorney-like, I would suggest to make the dialogue lines a little shorter, and add effects to break the monotony of reading text (AA has sound effects, flashes and screen shakes during dialogue to mark emphasis). I'm also not sure how I managed to get that "not guilty" verdict as it felt like we knew very little about what happened, certainly not enough to clear Abbadon's name entirely (maybe that's why he went to purgatory?) I assume it's because I reached the end without getting three strikes.

In any case, congrats for finishing!

Client was found not guilty.
Would be a shame if I didn´t get my paycheck for my nice condo!

Great game overall with the obvious nod the Ace Attorney.
If you want to be nitpicky it would have been nicer to see the Judge again when he was talking while the witness was on stand. Also, the summoning scene could have been a little bit shorter.

But yeah, thats just to critique something.

Overall a pretty solid and fun game!

What did you use for the dialogue? Self built or a dialogue plugin?
