Summary

Paula Poppet is a topdown survival shooter in which you are confined to a very small arena to fend off a horde of 15 waves! But wait, THERE'S MORE! Your only method of attack compresses the world into bubbles that you can then fire at your enemies and go KaBOOOOOOOOOM! This catastrophic attack sends debris and tiles everywhere AND displaces ALL objects. You can even bubble and launch yourself!! Can you survive a constantly changing arena that heavily limits your movement?

It was fun destroying things! I was surprised by slightly psychedelic atmosphere. A little more smoothness from the picture and the process didn’t hurt - sometimes what was happening became too chaotic.

@owc Thanks for the feedback and playing! Yeah, I can agree it does get very chaotic and hard to follow sometimes.

wow, this is fantastic! so much possibility here. i loved the target-priority system that you'd sometimes accidentally throw out of wack by picking someone up, throwing them into somebody else and then forgetting they're still alive. very good sound design and the visuals are fantastic, in the top 3 games i've played so far!

This is an incredibly well designed game I love it! I've never seen a game like this, it's a very unique idea that was expertly made, combined with having to dodge the bullets and make sure you don't accidentally take away land that you need to walk on is such a nice way to make the game difficult! Great job!

The concept, the juice, the sound, they're all amazing. The gameplay lags a little behind but not by any meaningful amount. It's a little hard to keep yourself enough room to survive, and yeeting yourself without realising can be a tad too easy.

Overall one of the best I've tried so far.

Oh wow, this is amazing! Such an innovative idea, and an actually fun arena shooter/battler to boot! Love the art style, music, and sfx - it all meshes so nicely.
Great job!

Amazing idea, but I don't know how to control multiple bubbles at the same time, I'm a little unhappy that I bought a lot of bubbles but the fighting power didn't improve, but I still like it, thank you for making it

This is quite an amazing game. Very tight, great controls, feels very smooth and fun to play. Graphics are wonderful and everything feels alive. Sometimes it can be a little overwhelming, but otherwise, you did a fantastic job and you’re very talented, keep it up!

What a great game. Everything seems so well planned and polished. There's a lot going but that just makes me want to go back and play it again. Well done!

Just the ability to be able to throw myself at my enemies and see them blow up makes this game great! Really impressive and polished a fun take on the theme. As mentioned in other peoples comments I would like to have a bit more control of what bubble I throw and also it would be nice if there where more of a selection each round for what items you get so that there is a bit more variety in each run. Right now I just pick up every item and it gets a bit overloaded.
Over all a fun and tight gameloop, great job!

Very nice game! Pretty innovative as well. I also found it quite difficult, lots of stuff going on at the same time lol. Definitely a challenging game, but lots of fun, so well done!

This may be most favourite game so far! It feels amazing to play, lovely sound and visuals and the reforming ground is a ton of fun with longevity too. Something about it conjours up a vibe from games like Bubble bobble and snow bros which is wonderful. This is a great entry, you should feel proud. Top marks all round from me.

Incredible, the feel is top notch and its well polished. I have played a bunch of these where the level changes to make the game space smaller and none give the option to increase it so it eventually runs out. This actually allows you to sustain a play session and be defeated when it becomes too difficult. Really enjoyed it.

Hey, amazing game! I loved the style, the music, the gameplay. The physics looks so cool and how you can bubble the projectiles with the character and still if their path is directed to the player you get damage. Everything fits just perfect. The difficulty might be a bit hard I was struggling sometimes to dodge the projectiles with the bubble delay but I enjoyed the challenge.

5/5 on theme, it's really cool to to throw tiles (and yourself) at enemies, and have to manage those tiles as level layout at the same time. The visuals are really slick. Only critique is I wish I had an explanation for multiple bubbles, I didn't quite understand what that meant.

This game does show some promise with its graphics and mechanics, but there's a glaring issue that can make it infuriating to play: enemies constantly spawning out of the screen.

Pros:

Graphics are Impressive: The game's visuals are its saving grace. The attention to detail in the graphics is commendable and provides a visually pleasing experience.

Mechanics are Decent: The gameplay mechanics are fun and engaging, offering some entertainment value. The controls are relatively easy to pick up, keeping players involved.

Love this idea of the space evolving as we create and launch bubbles! Actions was sometime hard to follow, maybe a sound when an enemy spawn and another when it launch a bullet would have help.

Made it to wave 11, well done, I had fun!

@pikario Oh! Seems i forgot to set the github repository to public, thanks for letting me know! It's up now :)

@steiner2001 Yeah, I noticed that enemy spawning off screen issue a bit too late into development to address, but yeah I completely agree with you there. Thanks for the feedback!

@sudocoffee The bubble arsenal was mainly meant to give you different ranges of attack, and cycled on a queue. I do agree that it was a bit difficult to take advantage of though.

This is a real good game! The mechanics are duper cool and it gives a nice twist to the battle arena style. It does get chaotic after a while and it becomes hard to understand what's going on, though. It's got a lot of potential. It really is a solid entry.

I really enjoyed it, very unique with the picking up land and the enemy to shoot them.

Nice game and I like how it feels to play. The bubble mechanic is a great concept, but I think that it can be pushed further, since right now you end up just clicking enemies without much use of it. Maybe adding enemies that would damage you if you put them into bubble, so you can't spam attacks, or spawning power-ups away from the player to provide the challenge of bridging to them. Nonetheless, really enjoyed playing it!

What an amazing game mechanic! I have so many ideas on how to create puzzle games using the same mechanic, I love it!

Nice visuals and audio too!

Good job!
