100% has potential. First of all, the sensitivity has WAY too high and you should have an option to turn it up or down. The mouse was also inverted which also should have an option in the menu. The game was also WAY too easy. I could just walk on the path and avoid the cars all together. I did think the way the player died was quite amusing though.

I couldnt seem to be able to walk at all, its a shame as I would of liked to play this one. Ill just vote on the humor/graphics as it seems others can play it

Yep - having some pretty annoying build problems right now and ran out of time to add more hazards. Thanks for the reviews! @cattymations @BayouSoftware

I do not agree that it is an easy game, the inverted mouse controls made it as if my character was drunk (which adds to the fun imo). Nice :)

Great visual style! I agree with some of the previous comments regarding mouse sensitivity, as well as inverted mouse controls being a bit disorienting. There was also the problem of the mouse going out of the game on the web build, which was a bit tricky. Apart from that, I thought the level was a great size for a jam game, and the premise of the game was great! Good work!

I like the style and the meaning you want to convey. However, the game makes me dizzy, it is because of the sensitivity of the mouse and the disharmonious between the direction of my mouse movement and the camera movement. If you want any humanoid animation, you can find them on the mixamo, which will definitely improve the quality.

@zhiteng-chen Thanks Zhiteng! I did look at Mixamo but ran into problems with the armature that I couldn't resolve before the end of yesterday. If I find some time tonight before the deadline I'll work on the mouse sensitivity and character animations :)

Nice game! I could definitely see the potential as well as the work that was put in!

I definitely agree with a lot of what the other comments are saying. This has the potential to be a pretty fun rage game. There's a lot going for it. I especially like how there's a very clear goal to get towards.
It's funny, because normally you wouldn't think an inverted camera controller would be very fun to play with, but the strange controls actually add to the game a lot. If the controls were really easy I don't think it would have been as fun. I didn't have a problem with the sensitivity because I can change the dpi on my mouse very easily, but I can see how somebody else might have problems with that.

Anyways, the biggest problem was the lack of control I felt I had. Other than standing on the grass right next to the road, there wasn't much I could do to avoid obstacles. I was either too slow, they came from behind, or I just straight up couldn't see them until it was too late.

Also there were a few times I somehow ended up on top of a house or was in the sky really, really high up.

Definitely some potential here and was a pretty fun experience overall!

The mouse sensitivity is a little off putting but the art style and vibe from this is really neat. Love ze T-Pose on the man and it is decently fun for what it's worth, i could totally see a lot more added on to the idea. Good stuff.

I loved the idea for the game, but found it super easy to make it to the end as I wasnt even hurt once. Also, the inverted camera both ways made me suffer, ahahah. Otherwise, a really fun game!

Funny game :D I kinda cheated by walking on the grass, but I made the delivery :)

I had lots of problems controlling the camera, but I was mostly fine since I tried not to use it much. Apart from that, the game was quite fun!

No footpaths, you just have to walk in the road and the cars never stop for you. Is this what it's like to live in the US? Fun wee game, multiple levels would have been good but of curse that's just the time constraint. I looked around the map a bit for secrets but I couldn't see any, they would have been cool (unless I just missed them)

Thanks for playing @osterzone ... You may have missed a thing or two :smirk: . But yes, time constraints limited the level design.

Cheers!

A lot of missed potential, I think. But still, the idea looks fun, hope you will finish it some day!

A truly hilarious game! I wonder if there's some kind of a story/lore behind this apparently druk idiot stumbling his way towards grannys birthday party delivering the cake...
For real though, props for what you accomplished in only 20h! Am interested in hwat the finished version will look like.

Definitely an interesting game, it felt too easy in my opinion, I did see that the mouse controls used to be inverted and some people found it harder then, but with the normal mouse movements it felt a bit too easy, but I like the idea, I think if there were some more obstacles it could definitely be a lot harder.

One thing I would've loved to see was some ragdoll physics on the character when you hit an obstacle, but I realize there might not have been time for it

Would be nice to see some more dynamic elements to it, maybe the destination house could be randomly selected, but overall not a bad game  -Peter

Someone mentioned rage game i disagree, this should be a game about wildly broken physics so you can laugh when you get hit by a car and your body is all contorted in impossible ways.

On the criticism side, camera clips through buildings making it impossible to see, you can't stop moving at a slight angle, the cars broke on my third attempt and stop driving, and I got launched into the air upon spawning once.

Pretty good, maybe if the trees also kill you it would be better. I like it though.

Cute goofy game I think this city might need to look into some safety regulations I am not sure or if you are injury prone or the cares are just straight up reckless lol.

The game is very rough, but I liked the idea of having to learn the "patterns" and be careful.
After 2-3 attempts I reached the end and it was actually funny!

Maybe just adding a timer to know how long u took to reach the granny could be a nice idea to add a bit more replay value and "sharing" with not much extra effort.

I delivered cake! and only died 3 times in the process, granny will be pleased!

A simple enough game, that was brought to life with the art assets and funny atmosphere. I didn't realise you could run, which could have made the game better. Also, I think having short cuts was a good idea, but I didn't notice them - so maybe a bit more held leading the player through the shortcuts would have been benefitial.

Replayability is tough sometimes with games like this, other than beating your previous time, you feel the gameplay may be a similar experience. Perhaps if it had more regular hazards, where the player had to change their path more often, it would make it feel more like a game you could "get better at" and play more often.

I laughed pretty loud when a car hit me from behind and shot me into a house. I always enjoy a game that has some sort of wild damage mechanic.

For me, the environment in this game was the real selling point. I did find it a little too easy, though. I think there is a lot of potential for more interactions with dangerous objects and ragdoll physics you could explore in the future! But again the overall aesthetic was really enjoyable!

@haymakercoding @jordantanner thanks for playing! I agree with both of you and appreciate your comments. Did either of you experience jittery camera movement? I experience it in engine but didn't experience it locally in a web build so I'm not sure if it's resolved.

I really enjoyed this actually! The music is wonderful and suits the game perfectly! I found the mouse sensitivity to be quite high. I liked that the main character sort of looks like Toad from Super Mario t-posing to assert his dominance!

@theartifacts Camera wasn't too jittery for me in the web build, but the mouse sensitivity is probably a little high. I did notice you added a slider in the options menu for that though which is a nice touch.
