I had a similar idea but didn't know how to implement it. Great execution, very interesting! I wonder does it grade the jokes?

Easily my favorite game of this jam so far. The Seinfeld-style music, the goofy prompts, and the AI reviews? Brilliant. Just brilliant. One of my favorite submissions.

Really good idea, I wish we could do a bit more than two prompts. At first I didn't realize I had to wait for the "critics" button to change, it would be helpful if it was unclickable until the AI responds.

@Reo_Silmetal thanks for noticing that bug! Fixed now :D

@alexander-tan it is trying to rate your jokes based on the humor category
@whycardboard Thank you for the lovely feedback!
@reo-silmetal we toyed with the idea of more prompts but in testing it wasn't as fun, it deteriorated into more of a conversation and was difficult to deliver a punch line

An interesting idea, but I really feel like I should have bombed a lot more! That being said, this is a really fun spin on the prompt and I spent way too long crafting lame comebacks.

'The Incredibles' scores well with the AI

Great game! I can see myself spending hours on this

@lone-wolf nice work! The support actor nailed their part too!

@kinart We had it be much harsher but honestly then it was just too mean, it's quite hard to balance.

Nice idea and take on the theme. Loved the comedic mood you're set on right away. For a moment I thought my prompt window was the assistant, even if it was on my side of the screen. Maybe it was the lack of italic or gray font that is commonly used for fillable fields.

Good job.

Good concept and well done even though its mostly leveraging AI, you used it well here :)

@josh-bothun Thanks for the feedback, but I think that's a bit unfair to say "mostly leveraging AI" as I'm sure if you inspect our source you'll see just how much work went into the game. Even the parts where we do access the openai api we had to spend a lot of time engineering and tweaking our prompts to get it to behave the way we wanted.

@rohanmoon Fair enough! You did a great job with it. I am perhaps a bit salty and undecided about AI use still :)

Seems like a cutting-edge game! You found a cool way to leverage AI in the game. The reviews were frequently similar, but it was interesting to improv with the AI anyway.

That's a really good game, I never thought about interpreting the theme from a speech point of view

Whoa, that's a creative to look at the theme, very nice!

I think there should be more replicas for the script to make sense and I'm not sure how well is the AI behind this doing, but otherwise it's well worth spent time and I salute your interpretation :v:

Wow, congrats on using GPT for this project! Definitely not the average entry! Some thoughts:

The game does show the potential of AI, I think improv is not really my thing, so I didn't feel very engaged. Graphics are a bit blurry. Nilce job on the paper/text design!

@dsk thank you! We had a lot of fun with it, and brainstorming is probably one of my favorite parts about LD.

@firellon thanks for the feedback! Yeah sometimes the AI misses the mark completely and gets a little confused, unfortunately a limitation of the tech available to us at the time. In the very near future we should have access to something much more powerful and I hope to implement that.

@christian-zommerfelds working with GPT was a lot of fun, thanks for the feedback! I think the blurriness might just be the embed window scaling the game poorly, unless you're just seeing our "pixelated" hall as blurry? Either way valuable insight thank you!

AI gave me totally unrelated "I think I'm stuck in a bad comedy sketch. *exaggerated eyeroll*", I made a joke about "stepbro, I'm stuck" which I found quite funny but rating was quite low.

Then there was a time-traveller from the future trying to understand a smartphone and it was not even a joke, just the most boring conversation one could have with a human from the future and it scored 4s and 5s in all categories.

But it's funny that the ratings inside an LD-Jam-Game are as unpredictable and random as the ratings _for_ the LD-Jam-Games. xD

If you make a summary of the best jokes at the end of the jam, please ignore the AI rating and pick what you liked most.

I probably wouldn't have used AI but multiplayer to do the ratings but it's also kind of interesting the way it is.

Very interesting concept. And if you make a summary of the best jokes, please @ me in the comments. I don't want to miss that. IF you have the jokes. I really do hope you have them.

This is a cool idea, neat to see AI being used to create something unique! It could use some fine-tuning for sure---often it seemed the AI would sort of miss the point of the joke I made and say something that didn't really work, and the critic reviews were all pretty non-specific and didn't reference anything actually said during the sketch. But overall this is well-done for such a short time period, nice work :)

Brilliant idea, and a creative take on the theme :) I reckon this is something that could go properly viral with all the chatgpt hype atm.

Definitely the most interesting entry I've seen so far!

graphics/ui/sounds were all pretty basic but passable!

Surprisingly funny and a good use of AI. And it was well integrated into a game that puts it all together in a nicely polished and coherent package. Well done!

Definitely my favorite entry in the humor category so far. I think there's something about AI that people find innately funny, so it was clever to use it for that! If you wanted to up the immersion you could consider sticking to one prompt for a bit longer and/or using a timer so the player has to think on the spot more, but I did also enjoy taking a ridiculously long time to come up with lines.
Really cool submission!

Hey @amarokczukay thanks for the feedback, I wrote a post about our prompts as I believe in full disclosure when working with AI: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/53/stand-and-deliver-2/how-we-utilized-gpt-in-our-game
