Man this was an experience.

I thought this would be one of those "haha click continue 200 times" games that just get annoying after a while. I'm glad to say that this comes with enough content to not get stale. I won't go into detail here because I think a big part of this game is experiencing it blind but it really starts to ramp up eventually. I think you capped it at exactly the right point as well, you got good stuff in and then left on a high note. Very nice game.

It's such a good idea. I really enjoyed the voice acting, are you an actor ? It was a great experience with a Stanley Parable or There is no game vibe.

It may be worth adding a specific content warning for addiction language, as this game could be challenging to go through for people with a history of addiction issues. I had to stop when it specifically referenced alcohol addiction.

I wouldn't consider this a game. For me this is like an interactable experience/video. That being said, I did like it. It had great comedic moments and it was really great. At one point I even started thinking if this whole thing was a metaphor for people doing the same thing their whole lives without actually living. Idk, but it got me thinking

Great Job

I'm amazed at how this game manages to feel like an absolute waste of time, but I keep pushing the button anyways. I don't know if it's out of spite, or if it's because I just want to see if anything actually *does* happen.

Okay, this is me two minutes later. I wasn't expecting it to go in this direction, but I'm loving it. Nice job on creativity, both in terms of the concept, and in terms of where you go with it.

05. Apr 2022 · 10:49 UTC
It was pretty fun overrall. I won't say it gets boring after a time but you clearly feel the time passing after some point. The reaction of seeing what I'm gonna push next is the funniest, the voice acting is high quality but after some time it keeps being that same outrage reaction so I lost a little of interest in the narrator's reaction and I was more looking forward what the game would make me do.
But I laughed a lot !

What an amazing game! Really innovative - and totally minimalist. I did not expect anything starting your project, but this is more than a simple click game. It reminds me The Stanley Parable and some Monty Python shows. Really well done - sometimes too trash, but with a fresh black humor. Great work on the actor voice and the final track is really funny. I like experimental games. The game was not much fun for me, the first few clicks yes, but it quickly grew old and i didn't like the bad things/stuff/killing. Still, i kept on clicking out of curiosity. So i see what you did there. And you did it very well. Very cool and interesting game as an experiment and it got me thinking about why i click and when and why i hesitate. So this game works well, i imagine. In the end i felt rewarded with the nice music. Very well done!

Coming from someone who recently made a game about a never ending loop of meaningless actions (though not for this gamejam), I really like the fact that other people also makes those silly and weird games. I see you made the gameplay **painfully** simplistic, but this allowed you to focus on content, and heck, the content is **cool**. Honestly, I have some quite mixed feelings, because there isn't much of a game in a traditional sense - I guess that's the thing about experimental games. But it's an interactable and enjoyable experience, so I give you that.

This is amazingly long, which goes perfectly with the theme to see how long will the player delay closing the game. Such a simple concept that is dependent on the narrator and was executed very well, it reminded me of Corridor and There is no game.

Really funny experience you were able to put together. The only technical issue you already know about with the scaling being off for some monitors, but easily got around it but zooming out.
Only thing that could've made it better... would've been to have a dark mode option, great job though!

Just, thanks for that. I want to give you a hug.

More seriously I really enjoyed the experience. I laughed almost every second of the experience. The work of the narrator is of high quality. (I think I detected a reference to there is no game maybe?).
As a French, I would have liked to have subtitles to make the most of the game.
Amazing entry.

@autogibbon Okay I realize this is a joke but for anyone actually curious about the lyrics it's:

You cannot say that yesterday we had the upper hand.

Retire the gods, we're getting older.

Stay close for warmth, we're getting colder.

Hell yeah, seriously. This is impressive. I did not expect that. I mean - I kind of did. I was thinking that maybe I will need to click 4-5 times but your really have put a lot of effort into it. Great, fun experience. Even though it is very simple, this is probably the entry I rated highest.

It somehow reminds me of a game "There is no game" :D

Fantastic performance, and great take on the theme. Embodying two characters, keeping the game fresh, operating on a meta level, having many different interactions, all the while being the best implementation of the theme I have played so far... What a game

Strengths:
- The vocal performance rocks. Never heard something like this before in a Jam, and that is my 10th Ludum Dare
- Great writing
- The concept remains fresh thanks to your many ideas

Possible improvements:
- As said by another player, the 911 operator could use some subtitles

Awesome entry!

A spectacular work of narration. You should work as a radio announcer.

When the text is too long in this type of game it's hard to have a satisfying ending, but I don't know if you were thinking about that, so never mind.

ngl, I listened to that ending song for a long time hoping there was something after it. If there is then I will happily play the game again because I honestly didn't want it to end lol. Phenomenal game, gets a little dark lol, but it's just a game jam game. The writing and everything about this game really is absolutely spot on. This isn't an issue or anything, though the shift to the dark tone was kinda abrupt and didn't have any build up tbh. I guess this way it had the impact that it did, though it really did feel a little too sudden. None the less, I won't deny that I was hooked from the very first button press till what I assume is the end with the song. Absolutely amazing VA. Can't praise it enough tbh.

P.S I also remember one of your older games from Wowie jam lol

You know what? Sure, Burgulon games made an entire game with 24 levels in 3 days. But does their game give me a headless little friend? ***no***. It does not! This clearly wins.

Seriously I really enjoyed playing, five stars everywhere!

*Only* issue I have is that it seems the game is a bit zoomed in, since the title text for each "slide" is being clipped by the top of the screen. Not sure if this intentional but it looked kind of weird to me. Still pretty good game though!

Personally I struggled playing this game, the controversial topics and barrage of insults are antagonising to say the least. The option were linear with no additional interactions, it played more like an audio book than a game. That said there's potential, the narrator is fairly well spoken in their delivery. Starts off similar to there is no game and has potential for a good story.
