"That should help me sleep", he said.
The claustrophobic feel of this has definitely woken me up a tad, but it was worth it. I love the atmosphere :D
This game had great atmosphere with the vector graphics and eerie soundscape!
Surprisingly deep controls for a three button game.
If this became a full lenght game, I would gladly play it :)
Thank you all for the kind words, feedback and for checking out the game!
Some jump buffer would've been nice.
Well played, super polished
I also really like that the intro let's you figure out the controls, very polished entry!
In terms of constructive feedback, would agree with some commenters above that the ending felt maybe a little inconclusive, I kinda expected something else to happen - completely understandable given the tight time though. And would also agree that the "unstable" topic could have been stronger.
Loved the graphics, the mood and the controls. The monster thingy was genuinely very creepy :)
I don't have a phobia of insects, but the enemy creature genuinely scared me.
The frustration comes from not being able to see more! I like the "limbo" atmosphere and 2D platformer narrative mood
"The drill" is really scary and perfect on visuals, feedback and working our imagination
great job ! :D
Love the sounds and the graphics. Super nice entry, would love to be able to make something like this one day ! Well done !
The controls felt off to me though. At a certain point it became less about soaking in the atmosphere and more about fighting with the game to do what you want it to do. I feel like it would have benefitted from a different jump mechanic, being able to adjust your position in mid-air just felt weird. Maybe give the player a minimum sideways jump to make things more predictable or something like that.
It didn't really fit the theme at all, there were a couple of tremors but nothing really seemed "Unstable".
I like the fact that the fish can only move by jumping! The game feels great. I especially like the detail of the spikes towards the fish, it's done very well
Honestly I absolutely love atmospheric games(Limbo, Inside) and this was just perfection in that, the sfx, the movement, the visuals, the little cutscenes and animations you blew me away dude.
Some criticism:
1. The mosquito sound when he's close to you really took me off the experience, felt very unfitting to everything you made.
2. The movement was interesting but I would prefer if there was a mix of platforming between water levels and normal ones, as the movement feels very stuck, in a sense, when you are out of the water, and that's fine except I didn't expect the whole game to be outside of the water.
3. Another thing about the movement, maybe when you are out of the water you can only jump right/left and the default would be right so you could kind of bunny hop your way through the level and get some feedback when you are timing it right.
Other than that this entry is just phenomenal! I would buy it instantly if you had it fully fleshed out and bigger, superb job!
But what's the link with the theme ?
A little issues with jumping from wall or when just in the angle of a wall, the jump go in the opposite direction of the wall, and we loose a little to much controls of the character.
How did you made all of this by yourself? You are super talented. I love that the game does not start at the beginning when you fail. Starting from the level that I fail makes me want to try again. It is a very successful game, congratulations :)
