Hellevator Operator Banner

"Join me in telling the tale of the Hellevator Operator, delivering lost souls between the circles of hell."

Hellevator Operator is a deep game that chronicles a journey into the literal depths of hell. It is a complex tale that---among other things---explores themes of Greed, Anger and Treachery. Its deep and layered presentation may appear cryptic at times, but if you pay close attention it will all fall into place at the very end...

Very nice little game. It took me a few tries, but you get through relatively quickly. I love that the passengers appeared in different places when you had to repeat the level and that you didn't always have to start from scratch. The graphics, although simple, I found appealing and I also liked the sound. The quotes were great stole... *cough* selected... :) Really good work!

n:th hell game today, but a good one :) ...played it through in first try, but I ended up with 0 seconds in many rounds so the difficulty was perfect for me!

Atmosphere was good, graphics were fitting and sounds and music quite minimalistic but professional.

I've become a fan of one button games since quamp - this was nicely themed and the difficulty curve just right!

The ending made me laugh! You NAILED the elevator - going up and down felt really satisfying given the simplicity of the controls. I also loved the sound of the elevator. Great work!

- The game was really nice and I immediately knew what I had to do
- The levels were not too easy and not too hard
- I liked that you used quotes for each level
- The ending still has me shook that it was all a lie
- I liked it that when you go back to the main menu after everything it tells you that it will all make sense.

Great visual style. The roman numerals were classy and I can imagine the whole scene being taken from a book cover for an old paperback. It was fun that the controls had a bit of play to them, but tough to get the hang of it while under pressure. Perfect amount of gameplay for the length of the game. Neat theme and bonus for tying some nice sounds to gameplay... and humor. Could have been a little more in-your-face about when you'd gone far enough to catch on the next floor / when the stops were in or out.

Good game, the concept and gameplay works pretty well, and the sound design fits greatly with the rest! The transition scenes add a lot to the mood too. Could be a very good mobile game imo. Sometimes it felt a bit frustrating how the elevator stop or not (I'm not sure that it's necessary to give the "tap" option, and that having just the "hold" option would just fit more overall). Also I'm a big fan of how informations are given to the player through the elevator with the red dots. You really did a great job, well done! :D

Oh, I don't have Windows :(. I like how you approached the theme. Nice. There's any chance you can build it for Web?

Haha, towards the end I was really starting to think "how pretentious are these people?" but the ending did make it all make sense :D

Simple, but I really liked it!

Pretty simple and clever concept. I like how much depth you managed to squeeze out of a one button control scheme. There were occasional bits of frustration waiting for the little side bars to come out, especially after accidentally landing on the wrong floor, but that also made it satisfying to get the hang of it and beat the levels efficiently. There's a good amount of strategy in figuring out how to prioritize picking up and dropping off passengers, which gets more complex as the game goes on. The audiovisual presentation was also top notch, and the ending was really great and caught me off guard. An overall excellent package. Amazing work!

This was really well made.

The audio and the speed of the movement *really* sold the weight of the elevator. Just sliding it around from floor to floor was really fun.

The game started off really slow, but by the end there was a surprising amount of quickness / memory needed in order to complete the levels on time.

Really good work!

The controls are weird. Pretty much everyone would have went for arrow up/down. The way you did it is way more unique and fun to play with. This game has it all, graphics, sound, a kind of story, everything is well made.

The only thing that should have bothered me is the options in the menu. Usually I find that it's a waste of time that the dev should have spent fixing other issues. Except here I don't have any issue to complain about, so why not making a great menu too eh ?

Excellent game, very well polished! I liked the overall mood of the game. It felt really easy in the beginning but it became more and more challenging towards the end while never being too difficult. It was fun  Also loved that ending  Great job!
