Hi! I love this concept! Did you know cranberry harvesters often get absolutely covered with spiders when collecting in the cranberry bogs? Just a little fun fact for you:)

Also, I wish the time limit was a little longer so I could collect more berries! Good job!

Hi @cat-chef thanks for the feedback. This is still a work in progress so make sure you check back once voting has started. We do know about the spiders...😉😉😉

It's an interesting concept - I'd have liked to have had a goal and levels and perhaps start without the rocks - it took a couple of goes to work out how to harvest well - perhaps a mouse interface? (or even a mobile game?)

@cat-chef hahaa yep! thanks for coming back! We really didn't want to perpetuate "spiders are bad" and wanted to reinforce that they're friendly and helpful.

Spiders are excellent at insect pest control, and you don't even have to pay them!

It's a good looking, good sounding game that's satisfying to play, love the pop of getting cranberries in! It definitely challenges me to play again and beat my previous score with the strategies I learn. I love that you can save spiders too.

Interesting game! Was confused at first but eventually figured out how to play. Gameplay is quite unique. I wished the guy would pull the thing back without tripping all over the place :D Game is very simple so there's not too much replay value, and the controls are a little weird. Art is nice and music is cute. Overall I think this was a very clever and interesting application of the theme.

Music is pretty great! It starts off deceptively simple but then lays on unexpectedly- feels unique. I thought the water ripple effect was a nice touch.

These "attached rope" games are pretty fun, really had to think hard about balancing my desire to min-max the number of cranberries vs being able to _actually_ get them in the basket. I only wish with the the rope physics, that increasing and decreasing the length was smooth rather than stepped. Often I was shooting out cranberries all over the place when pulling the rope in when it snapped it's "reel in" distance.

Spiders everywhere thank you for this entry.

I love the new take on the harvesting theme and the fact that you must save little spiders to add time. Very satisfying little game with a good soundtrack! Well done!

Fun gameplay! Great music and the "pop" sound effect from collecting berries is really satisfying. The retract/extend mechanic is cool too, and could definitely be interesting in a later version if you could gain the ability to retract faster or with more force to pull in larger and larger batches of berries over time. Very well done! :)

Good idea! Typically the kind of mini game you would expect to find in a Mario Party! I would love to see a multiplayer version.

Points for innovation and new control, interesting game and vfx. My feedback game play is monotonous and adding dynamic elements in the game will help make things interesting.

Very interesting little game. However, the speed of the shrinking rope and the moving speed of the character seem to be different, which leads to the situation that I often move while holding down the shift key, and the character is dragged back, causing the fruit to leak out. On the whole, it was very pleasant.I get 532 in the game
Grisha
11. Jan 2023 · 07:26 UTC
Yeah agreed about the getting pulled back when holding shift @starofleaf, we were fighting the physics engine where applying too much force allowed the rope to pop over rocks. Next time I'd probably look at a different engine if possible instead of matterJS, or maybe we just had some incorrect settings.

Cranberries and spiders? That's a strange but cute idea! However, I feel the rope is a bit too bulky and slow and it seems to be too "heavy" to drag. But I enjoyed the water animation, that's a nice detail!

Relaxing game?) Tried for many times but I don't know why, but I was constantly stuck in the lower left corner. Mouse interface might be more convenient. Overall idea nice and funny)

Hahahaa, the guys are already betting on who can get a higher score. A lot in front of me, it took me a while to understand, but the game is really cool. The arts are simple, but they are very good, congratulations. Ah, if you have a little time, enter our game and give your evaluation too (just enter my profile quickly, it's the first game I make). I advise you to play the downloaded version, because the Ludum one is not adapting the window correctly!

Super neat game mechanic. Looks on the surface simple and then you wrap yourself around a rock. Had a great time playing. Great stuff.

Mechanics are very creative and work quite well. The balance between collecting the cranberries and the spiders as good. I enjoyed the mechanic of pulling in and extending the rope. I'm surprised how engaging it was given how simple and intuitive the mechanics are - very innovative! If I could name a feature request it would be to play with a controller where I could have the ability to move in directions in between the orthogonal directions.

This is one of my favorite compo games for this LD. I wasn't able to get a score as high as other players, but dang was it fun.

### Things I liked

1. The physics was great!
2. The rope has inertia that makes it harder to swim with, but it also has colliders!
3. I loved being able to swim around the rocks in weird shapes and still be able to cinch in the rope to bring cranberries to the bucket, it was extremely satisfying
4. The cranberry colliders worked naturally with the rope colliders!
- A couple time I was able to "squeeze" cranberries towards the bucket by "pinching" sections of the rope together
5. There is a strong element of emergent gameplay here, which is amazing
6. You can save the spiders to get more time!

### Things I noticed

1. For the sake of saying something, the background is tiled.

This game is fantastic, I very much enjoyed playing it!

I'm surprised I hadn't seen this game yet since one of you were the first to comment on mine!

I love this. Besides delicious cranberries and friendly spiders, this actually hits a lot of things I talk about a lot and want to see more of in games:

- Water is 70% of the planet, we should see more water in media.
- Games with a little bit of physics tend to be more fun.
- Unique mechanics make unique experiences.
- Shaders make games more visually appealing.
- Non-violence in games leads to greater creativity.

Definitely not the prettiest game. But looking past that, I enjoy this a good bit!
