Claws and Conundrums by LocksmithArmy
You are somewhat of a know-it-all. Your good friend has reached out for help in a murder case. It is up to you to figure out what summoned creature has killed someone in your village.

Explore the house, look for clues, find the summoning book. Can you figure out what monster was summoned?

This game is SHORT... find the clues, guess the baddie, thats it. Good luck.

We had many family obligations this weekend, as such we used these assets to create this game:
Human (Guard) - InfinityPBR
Environment (House) - 3DForge
Summoning Circle - Hovl Studio
Background Audio - Andrey Sitkov
Footsteps Audio - Gamemaster Audio
Links to free assets we used:

Blood - https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/2d/textures-materials/blood-splatter-decal-package-7518

Moving forward: We could make random clues appear in the environment depending on which monster is randomly targeted for the user to pick (It is static right now, no replay value if you guess correctly) We could have many environments aswell (right now there is just one)
P.S. Stick around after you guess correctly for the final page of the book.

Hope you have a largeish monitor... cause a small monitor aint gonna cut it.
There is no way to close the desktop version... OOPS
Use alt f4, or windows key, or alt tab...~~
**UPDATE: fixed both these issues... enjoy**
After some light reading (and a few wrong guesses) I was able to save the town. Thanks for the submission!
Really nice atmosphere
Would love to see a longer version of this one day!
I have found the book, but I cannot turns any page in it.
I like the atmosphere and the idea, but it's hard for me to rate it because of the book issue :(
I tried a lot of shortcuts without success...
I tried hard to make the arrow keys or [A] and [D] but it always went jankey and kinda broke so I took that out :(
but yeah, the bottom left and right corners only. where the "Drag to turn pages" is pointing too.
Slight concern that may have already been addressed:
After providing the correct response: There was some widget overlapping, a note was present, but the dialogue with the guard remained beneath it. I was unable to proceed further.
Moment I stopped breathing: the music has a delay before it plays again. I got scared thinking something was going to get me. lol. I was ready for the jump scare of my life.
No jump scares here... yet :see_no_evil:
Very good use of the theme!
Loved the art style you went with.
The ominous music really built tension while searching the place.
Its got Phasmophobia vibes which is cool!
Awesome work!
What I can tell you though ... TLDR, people kept dying XD Haha
Keep up the great work!
Otherwise, it is a solid base and I can definitely see a good game out of it!
well made use of the assets. Looks neat and has a nice vibe. But I am not so much into search and clue Games. But nice entry for the jam!
fun to play
Nice entry, well done !
(And also, especially impressive that you made it an embedded game...)
weekends are when obligations occur... not all peeps got chill programmer jobs like me.
(plus there are 2 of us working from home)
Aaaand, ratings given is not games played, if you rate all 5* you would get 5 ratings given... so I have not played 200 games... yet :speak_no_evil:
I do tend to rate highly, cause everyone does so good (I really liked your game too) and game jams are hard.
But anyway, overall it looks like a good job!
I struggeled a bit with the page turning, but everything else was very intuitive. Story kept me reading everything.
Would definitly be back for more of this! Great job :)
But well made with great atmosphere.
And writing a book is no small task during a jam, so congrats.
