Really enjoyed the music in the game! The mood and instructions worked as well!
Noticed the game included support for several levels, but I was never able to go to the next level after the tutorial. Not sure if this is intended, or was I just so bad at the game or understood something wrong :D

Great game overall! Hope you had fun!

Can't go wrong with pixel art. It took me a while to understand how it works, but in the end, I like the idea. Great concept with some second-to-second risk vs. reward decisions.
Better color coding of items, enemies, and friendly units could have helped a lot to keep the overview of everything that's going on.

@zamizmi, thank you! the game opens up into 1 main level after the tutorial. there aren't any other levels.

@suksu thanks, I'll work on a post-jam version later to address any issues. any problem in particular?

@xazens thank you! I used a limited color palette so I had to rely on silhouettes to distinguish allies from enemies. I'll make sure to work on that

Amazing music and great pixel art (that ending screen, wow) ! I mostly used my powers to heal, it felt like whatever I casted at the assassins was mowed down, maybe buff the invocations a bit to give them a chance to slow down enemies (They faced a constant stream of arrows :D). It was fun !

I really like the graphics and the audio! I almost died several times by blocking myself with my own minions but i managed to listen to this guitar solo (hell yeah!).
I don't know if it's intended or not but the summoning circle moved away from my cursor the further my mouse was from the middle of the screen.
Cool game overall, i switched between 2 phases to reach the end : "full minions army to destroy everything on my way" and "run alone like a coward to get magic herbs" ^^
(Loved the intro, too)

@mortith lol I'm glad you finished it, that's pretty much the intended strategy, clear enemies first then go for the portal. the cursor is intended to work that way, I found that having the summon sign simply follow the mouse was a bit too easy and made it so it starts at the position of the player and then has to be moved by dragging the mouse around. thank you for the feedback!

Graphism are perfect, the retro vibe of the music also perfect and the gameplay innovative. Nice job.

I didn't finish it, but I like it! I think the minions could be a little more powerful, since they usually just get obliterated by the enemies immediately. Also, for a WASD and mouse game, I would've bound heal to something like E instead of H, so you wouldn't have to move your hands. Other than that, I like the concept. The thought that you can't win the fight, but simply hold them off is interesting on its own.

The opening was really quite something. I never really got the game even though I played for about 20 minutes. I felt like I was always under attack and it never really gave me any time to think and figure out what the game was actually about. I didnt realise there was a portal until I had played for a while and even after getting to it and opening it. It was just full of scribles so I was confused about what to do with it.
I liked how there was a heartbeat when you didnt have many lives, it was a good warning. And the mechanic of summoning felt pretty cool. I was often caught off guard with the enemies being the same colour as the things you summon which got me quite a few times.

Pretty fun game. I think it would be helpful to increase the health on the melee creatures. Once there are too many ranged assassins they decimate anything that gets near them and they basically become unstoppable. Choosing runes for the portal was a creative idea. It forces the player to maneuver around the map and pause when being chased to deal with the pursuers. Good job here!

So fun! I kinda just kited everything and summoned the portal and healed. Just a skill issue. xD Loved the guitar solo also.

Nice pixel art game! A little hard, but that's a good challenge! I didn't see the arrow indicating the magic mineral at first so I went in the wrong direction and ended up being chased by so many enemies! Really catchy!

What a fun game! It was a bit difficult for me, but I get the gist of it and I like it. The matching spell part is very clever, as the player gets distracted from the fight and really needs to pay attention to the different kinds of scribbles. The graphics fit very well together and the music / sound effects are nicely implemented. The whole thing feels polished

Damn, what an amazing idea and game!! I love the limited color palette, the epic music - I'm honestly so envious of your ability to make ALL of the assets in time for the jam, AND also a great game on top of that fshjfsf x)

This game really knows how to keep you on your tippy-toes, you never have even a millisecond to breathe and think about your next move, but since the controls all feel very natural, this leads to a seamless flow as soon as you understand the mechanics.

One thing I didn't understand is that the "ranged ghosts" seemed to only attack when they were really close to the enemies they were targeting, even though they did shoot projectiles. Or maybe I just didn't understand how they worked. It was also hard to distinguish between each kind of enemy and ghost, since they are all the same color. Having the 2 kinds of enemies and corresponding ghosts have matching colors could be a nice QOL change! I'd also like to have clearer feedback when one of my ghosts have died, or of how many I have on me, since they were very fragile and sometimes I would spawn one and they would immediately die without me realizing I wasn't protected.

Nevertheless, after quite a long time of clearing enemies and getting to all the portals, getting to the end is *gloriously* satisfying, which is my favorite part of hard games like this! The synth guitar solo at the end is a nice reward lol! Amazing job once again!!

The music when you win goes super hard, you are absolutely right to be hooked by that.

Extremely fun game! The upping stakes when more enemies spawn in and it becoming more tactical about summon placement as time goes on made it feel very tense throughout! The resource management with heal/summon and the pattern matching when reaching a magic mineral also added a strategic level to it, I loved that. Art is super good, I love how polished everything looks! Writing has a lot of charm to it, the tutorial having some quips and the twist ending were great. And of course the music, the music is incredible in this, not just the aforementioned winning music, but also the one during the main game. Great job all around, very well done!

This is something Wouter has heard a ton from me xD See it as nitpicking, but When I see .. instead of ... And missing capitals I grumble  I liked the game a ton, a lot is happening, there have been a point I was confused like finding the portal which because of the speed and lotsa stuff happening was apparently stressing me out a ton xD The good old summoning creatures, and the humor in it 'because it must be fun' is fitting~

I kept getting swarmed and was unable to win at this. But that's probably just my own incompetence. This is a fun game, I love the graphics and the sound. One of the better entries here. Very imaginative.

The production is quite cool with a very marked aesthetic that I personally like, the music and sounds are cool... I appreciate the feedback on each action of the player. My regret is having to play with the keyboard and mouse. I find that it complicates the handling, I would have preferred it to be completely controller/keyboard or just with the mouse. I find that it's not easy to travel and also have to manage everything else but hey, that's just my way of seeing it.

Well done my friend. You got me with the intro - I liked this tiny arpeggio. The main gameplay of your game is classic, but you managed the theme very well. The mood, the music and the aesthetic are really good. The controls work well as expected. Maybe you should add more elements in the game like solid background graphics. This one is a little too minimalist. Hower, in less than 3 days, you made a solid entry. Thank you for this contribution. As usual, I wish you the best ++

The game was very good! It could use a little balance, I think that working on that and polishing the pixel art more in general would be something very interesting. Well done! xD

I felt a bit overwhelmed by all the stuff that you unloaded onto the player in such a small span of time, but did get there eventually. It felt like the summoning mechanic wasn’t very rewarding though, and in my final run I don’t believe I summoned anything at all. This was for a few reasons; energy took so long to collect, the summons were relatively weak and healing was very valuable so I focussed my energy on this. So in a way, having the heal mechanic kinda made the summoning less valuable. Still though great job on it, if only the game had been longer then maybe I’d have had more time to get to know everything better.

Super interesting idea of managing different mechanics at once, even though it can get pretty overwhelming quickly. You gotta build up a strategy for the game, but it's definitely not impossible. Great art and audio too, awesome work!
