The only issue I ran into is that it gave me a bit of a headache playing it! I think it was something about the blurry graphics, it felt like my eyes were always trying to re-focus.
Overall, amazing entry! Well done!
I also found all the elephant graffiti

My only complaint would be the camera snapping. When I tried to turn the camera with my mouse, it would suddenly jump harshly to the side. I'm assuming this is designed in order to make the 4-direction locked stretching easier to handle, but I think that some vector math to calculate which direction the hand should go would be less jarring to the player.
Outside of that one complaint, major props to the whole team, this game was absolutely incredibly and the scope of it just blows me out of the water. Great Job!
definitely should polish and continue a bit a work
what a amazing game! :)
@blazejmg917 I'm not aware of any camera snapping. The game should play like the video above your comment. Perhaps you had the mouse sensitivity high (you can change this in the settings by pressing enter)? Would be eager to solve the bug if there is one.
But regardless, I think you have a fantastic game here! And if nobody else is commenting on the issue, I think you're likely safe to assume it was just my mouse or computer bugging out haha
Game runs perfectly smooth on webgl.
Super cool, I played till the very end, and I would very much like to play a full game like this. This gameplay, those voices... Excellent!
The only downside is how short it is. I honestly wish there were more levels to it.
Keep up the good work !
The mechanic could have a full game around it! Awesome job.
I wonder how you guys managed the polishing and the bug fixing
Very well done, keep the good work
A few very minor points:
- The text didn't display for me in a couple of places; not a problem, since the voices were very clear and crisp.
- It's possible to break the dialogue sequence on level 4 if you take the secret path early, then come back - but you probably already know about that.
- There's a Source Code link on the LD page, but it doesn't seem to link to any source code?
But again these are just tiny things; overall this is a very fun and well-made entry, I hope it does well!
Hm, what feedback can I give....
Perhaps it would be interesting if there was more jump or something. I felt like I fall down so quickly, it would be cool to have more jump-stretch puzzles, especially climbing back up felt so tedious to me (maybe thats okay, not sure). The graphics seems to do the job, but it would be interesting to see what it could be if you guys end up developing it more. Oh and the puzzles were clever, every time I was solving a new problem and think in different ways.
Well done guys!
@tjm 1) Yes we have an issue with fullscreen making text disappear (don't know why!) 2) Ha ha, good point! 3) Well spotted, at least we can fix that one easily - just fixed :)
Still, I have only one question - and only one thing bothered me: should the resolution be that low? Was it intentional or something with performance or rendering concern? I think a bit more crisper reso would make for even greater experience! Maybe I am wrong? Everything but this: amazing entry! Congrats! :v:
My only complaint is that due to the color palette/low res, the ledges can blend in with the walls. On one of the levels, I had solved the puzzle but I didn't understand where to go since I couldn't see the ledge.
Sound is great and fits the retro vibes. Story is hilarious. Overall a very polished entry.
Great job!
Well done! Take a candy! :candy:
I failed here, seemed I was 1cm short on my jumps and gave up after 20th death

@johnnysix sorry some of the jumps are tricky! The streamer video in comments above at 12:53 will show you how to do it! ("remember to stretch, chief!")
@aweskybear good question about the resolution. We did it entirely to give it "a look", which we liked! But some players have had issues with it, so it should definitely be optional in future versions.
The only thing I think could be done a bit better is the graphics, not because it could be done better, but because it could be done differently. The chosen art style is very well made, but imho in a game where you stretch everything, perhaps a higher resolution (but still low poly) flat color style might work better (I don't know if I explained it well, something that scales well to achieve something closer to vectorial rather than raster graphics). The aliasing here is a bit aggressive and the texture stretch doesn't always look great. Everyhting else is top notch. This is definitely one of, if not the best game I tried in this jam. I'd love to play an extended version of this, please keep working on it.
I love how the theme is just oozing from all over the game - the gameplay, the lore & the puns. Claustrophobia vs Agoraphobia, just brilliant!
Also, the subtle cues as to how your player character look!
