LD54 Team

It's our first game jam together and we had a lot of fun experimenting with this concept! Any and all feedback is really appreciated. The backrooms was a perfect setting to experiment with limited space. We're interested in expanding this drawing concept further if we can!

All the aspects of this game were really GREAT !! And I say this while I truely hate horror / stressful games :'D
The concept is really well thinked and match perfectly with the theme. I love how dynamic is the gameplay, the pressure made by the creatures, the fact that I completely forgot the draw because of the stress...
And all of this is really well served by the music / sound design and the graphics. My favorite so far <3

i enjoyed the controls of using the spray paint to open the doors. the art is really nice and moody too. sometimes i had trouble remembering the paint patterns, but that's an issue with my memory rather than the game.

wow, so good, so polished, great sounds. great enemy pathing, awesome graphics, awesome sound, music. Truly unique gameplay with the spray paint, and how it can block specific enemies. definitely one of the top entertaining polished completed game I've completed so far!

I wish I had some helpful suggestions, I thought sometimes it's hard to remember the combination pattern once you see it, because you're running away from enemies. But I think that's part of the challenge, and sometimes I even ran back to remember it. Also later, I would tag it on the ground in spray paint so I wouldn't have to go all the way back haha. Kind of like it that way.

Neat!

Loved everything but the main menu. The chromatic aberration was way to much to look at.

Very neat, great ambient. Hard to remember some patterns with the added stress.

Quite enjoyed my share of panic attacks and drawings!
Very solid ensemble, works perfectly as a whole and leaves you with room to draw on the floor at the end ^^

Had so much fun playing - loved using the spray paint function! I got super stressed out trying to run from the monster while trying to remember the code haha. The art and sound for the game was so good too!

I'm normally not a fan of horror games but this one really got me. Loved the creative gameplay and monster design especially.

Wanted to also give a huge thumbs up for the game design, SFX timing really got me immersed and balancing remembering the code while also being stressed from monsters had me engaged from start to finish

Fucking hell, I probably forgot how to play horror games, first encounters were already scarry! It's awesome how you built this unsettling horrifying atmosphere. I couldn't finish the game because it's really making me nervous)) Someone please give a spoiler how many levels are there, so I know how long this torturous fun will be)
I really loved the art style, looks beautiful! As well as UI and sound design. And ofc this paint idea is interesting for gameplay. I maaaaaybe would like to see paint mechanics more integrated into overall narrative (like why there are exact places to paint), but that's because I'm already looking at this as a full-fledged game project and not a jam entry. It's crazy how you managed to make it all in just 3 days) Really incredible work.

I crapped my pants a few times while trying to enter in the code while getting chased by the monsters. Quite thrilling! Great work on this!

I love horror games and back rooms! Such a creepy atmosphere in such a short time with all this beautiful pixel art and music. Awesome!

The PC is adorable and even has eight directions to walk ...... Amazing. When I realized I could use my mouse to spray paint on the ground, I pulled out my digital pad and tried to paint something else on it. Honestly, it's really fun to be able to do that kind of thing in a horror game.
Overall, very fun game!

This entry was one of the best I've seen. Everything was polished and all of the enemies mechanics were well though out. The level design wasn't annoying but it wasn't easy either. Really enjoyed this. Very fun game in all of its aspects!

The game is fun and very enjoyable !

However, the camera movements were quite jarring and nauseating. Maybe it would have been better to smooth its movement instead of making it follow the character tile by tile.

The Paint mechanic is innovative and fun ! The monster music was also really great : it gave me chills when it kicked in in the middle of a dark hallway...

A solid entry, congratulation !

aaaaah it was so so cool! a liked the atmosphere a lot as well the paint mechanic. the whole mood was so good, that i was extremely scared and anxious the whole time, i couldn't play it a lot - that much i was scared! >D<
i wish i could watch someone playing it until the very end, i'm really curious to see what could have happened next..

Ok, this is terrifying. I mean it is a very well done little game. The mood, music and setup work together and create strong impression and atmosphere.

Good job!

AWESOME ! The game gave me the chills. The art, music and all produces a real atmosphere, I felt my stress level rise at each mob. It kind of had a Stranger Things lab feel that i really enjoyed ! Very good Jam project ! Keep on the good work ! :)

I love this game, you nailed the mood 100%, there was just enough spook to get my heart racing but also gave me enough space to think. The art and the music worked together perfectly. The puzzle were great, and it's on point for the theme. If I had to nitpick it'd be that the character didn't have a shadow which was a little off putting when the other lighting elements were rendered well, but hey maybe that's the point! I really enjoyed this one, congrats!

Well coded and love the gameplay mechanics. Such an interesting way to bring horror to a "2d genre"

Wow, now that's something! Art and music are amazing! I like this color palette a lot! And the game is interesting and scary! I liked that the monsters are afraid of paint, but they actually are made of paint themselves. I would like to know more about this world, what happened and what are those things. Good work!

Art and music really sold the mood! Definitely felt a sense of fear, and on top of that it looked good. Really interesting mechanic and done well, incorporated not only an interesting mechanic but also puzzle elements to it too. A lot of potential is here. Well done entry!

Really dark color palette as well as the sound. Space is limited but not that much. The atmosphere is very nice and dark, great pixel art, everything is very well done. I had some disastrous encounters with the black creature, although the atmosphere is dark I didn't get as scared as I read in others' comments, but it is a magnificent piece of art for sure.

Very neat idea with a cool and unique gameplay mechanic! I did find it very difficult to input the unlock pattern while moving to avoid the enemies. Loved the creepy vibes and atmosphere. Nice work!

OMG This was sooooo scary! Really impressive entry! I was really surprise when saw that the game is made by some names I follow for such a long time! Love your works already, and this one is definitely really well done! Being someone with a very bad memory it took me quite a few turning back moments to remember the patterns lol But that really added to the overall experience! The art is really polished and the audio is top notch. I can totally see this idea being developed into a full fledged game! The only thing I would change is the repetition on the same pattern in some areas, that made the end game a little faster, but thats definitely a small thing, specially on a jam game. Really great work, loved it!
