Description

An endless wave survival game where you fight against ghosts using a UV torch.

You have been trapped here for a quite long time in this unknown haunted room that you didn't want to be in, dealing with incoming strange ghost-like creatures that will always be there to attack you. Surrounded by darkness, the only light sources for you are the UV torch and some blurry light from floating blu-ghosts, and the only way to keep surviving in this hell hole is to kill all of those creatures, as long as you can.

  • Point the UV torch at the ghosts to kill them.
  • After killing some ghosts, you can choose a random upgrade.
  • There's a chance that a dead ghost might turn into a grave that acts like an obstacle.
  • When you get to the 6th wave, 1 blu-ghost will spawn, let you have a bit better overall vision around the room. After that, every 3 waves will spawn another one to the maximum of 8.

Super cool game!
Very interesting light mechanic. The upgrades are also really neat!
I would've loved to see some UI elements more in theme with the game. And maybe faster pacing.
Overall I really enjoyed playing.

Great idea. Unfortunately, I didn't receive any level-ups after Wave 9. I had the perk that allows you to destroy graves with light, which is a bit overpowered, as I could easily eliminate everything until only one slow ghost remained, and then I could clear all the graves. I stopped after 600 (wave 12) ghosts because I didn't receive any more level-ups. It would be nice to have something like an XP bar to see when the next level-up is coming.

Like the idea; it can get tense when you find a cluster that you hadn't noticed.
My main criticism is the character movement is too slow and its just get annoying after a while

Very nice mechanic with the light and the graves, also cool atmosphere. The balancing could be a bit improved (healing/visibility 5% barely noticeable), the graves are also near-impossible to get rid of with the light. Overall still one of the most fun games I've played in this jam, great work!

Awesome little game. I had a bug where my lights were just squares, which detracted a bit from the experience. Also would have liked more of an alert when taking damage.

Maybe the graves could be used as ghost spawn places to spread them out more?

It was fun and intense! Sometimes ghosts spawn right next to you which is a bit frustrating. Overall, nice game!

Easily some of the most fun I've had playing games this jam so far. Love it! There are some unique powerups which are pretty fun to play with. Does get a little repetitive and I think maybe some more enemy types or something could really spice it up, but obviously this was made with a time limit. Over all great job!

I made it to wave 10 and killed 525 ghosts, leaving 1 ghost alive and clearing out the gravestones is a winning strategy. I liked the power ups and gameplay, I feel like some better sounds and more powerups would go a long way. Also unless it supported in the engine calculating light collision is no joke, I've done it in the past and can appreciate the challenge. good game

The concept of this game is really cool. I also like the progression system a lot. And having the main menu kinda act as a tutorial that already teaches you the basics is a really nice idea.

I like the way space gradually becomes limited over time; it's a clever use of the theme that's well reflected in both gameplay and visuals

I'm not sure if it was the device I have, or if its just the HTML5 version, but the light was so laggy that I couldn't really see the ghosts I was doing damage too, much less move. I really liked the graphic colour choices, and the idea of the random skills was awesome! That made this 10x more fun having a sort-of skill roulette. It would be cool if the skills stacked so you would become this invincible ghost killing machine. My strategy was standing in the middle and just circling the light around me :)

I have seen other limited vision games during this jam so at first I wasn't that impressed, but after gravestones started dropping and updates started popping, I found myself enjoying the game and its innovative level build. The updates were great and innovative, I liked how you stepped out from the usual "you can only update damage and health" and actually gave me some brand new upgrades. For example the upgrade that lets you destroy gravestones- at first it felt like a gift, but then my focus was fully moved into pointing on those stones and ghosts began to jumpscare me. A great game!

Cool take on the theme with interesting gameplay. Wish the upgrades were more impactful. To note, I didn't realise you could sprint until an upgrade said something about modifying it.

Simple but good game. The flashlight casting shadows on graves makes a nice atmosphere. I started to think i had seen the game first but i am glad there was unique upgrades that changed the game flow.

I like it, a nice twist on the survivor-like genre! If the upgrades a little bit more impact it would be more exciting but balance seems good!

Fun Vampire Survivor/Holocure clone. Didn't end up running at all, so the movement-related upgrades felt a bit wasted. Upping the pace a bit might help, feels very slow and methodical. I like it, though, well done!

A cute, fun little game. It's a solid entry with some nice ideas, and shows a lot of promise. After a while, I did think the game got a bit too easy - with some more enemy and upgrades, this could become a real game!

Our concepts ended up pretty similar lol :laughing: The game relates with the theme pretty well with the limited vision area. To me what stood out the most was the upgrade system, which was creative with its names and kept me playing more of the game. I do however think that the game is a little too easy right now and the difficulty curve rises quite slowly, so consider doing some balancing if you're going to continue working on it!

Scary game. The light and shadows provide both a nice visual effects as well as a game mechanic.
