This Room Aint Big Enough For The Two Of Us

This is your room and you are in it. Face and shoot a variety of visitors. Then you can finally be alone in your room!

This is our first game in Godot! There were some growing pains Friday and Saturday, but by the end of it we felt pretty good with the engine! Godot has a lot of weird hiccups/pitfalls but it runs crazy fast. Maybe we'll make a blog post about it or something. -hydezeke

If the game is running poorly, try turning on hardware acceleration (chrome, firefox). Game runs weirdly in Opera GX.

Made by hydezeke, gnocchi, mediflect, and alto. Features 10 lovely music tracks by alto and gnocchi!!

Controls (press Tab to review in-game)

  • WASD - Move
  • Mouse - Aim
  • LMB - Shoot
  • RMB - Dash
  • Left Shift - Crouch
  • O/P - Change mouse sensitivity

The game automatically saves your progress as you play. If you'd like to start over from the beginning, hold [Backspace] while on the title screen.

If you're really having trouble with a particular level, you can skip it with our secret dev controls. (This doesn't work on the final level.)

Known Bugs

  • The aiming reticle sometimes drifts on certain browsers. This should go away if you play in fullscreen.

Hotfixes

  • Changed some keybindings that weren't available on some keyboards.

Tools Used

  • Engine: Godot 3.5.3
  • Music/Sfx: Logic, Guitar Pro, FamiStudio, Audacity
  • Art: Asesprite, Blockbench, Blender, Photoshop

Every level kept me on my toes. Nice variety of surprising challenges in each level. I like how it's so quick to replay a level, making it easy to experiment and figure out the trick of each one.

A very fun shooter-puzzle. Reminds me of the best aspects of Superhot

Fun blend between FPS and puzzler, in a way. Each enemy felt like it a secret that made the level feel rewarding. The white beasties were the hardest initially, but I managed to eventually beat them with some elaborate jumping. Unfortunately, I couldn't get back the unhinged cats in level 22. This was a fun game to stick around in for 5+ minutes, which is really great for a game made in a weekend. Novel concept, and clever use of the them.

Wow, very polished entry! I couldn't get past level 3 (lol), but the idea was great and I loved cheekiness in the level names!

Roomgun indeed. Loved the "Room gun!" audio at the beginning. Great literal use of the theme in a way that I really like. Small, simple, fun, and funny. Well done.

I have no words, but a thousand thoughts... **God Tier Game**. Feels like Adventure Time (my favorite animated show). It was satisfying, which is unexpected from a shooter game. and OMG it is like a complete and finished game! I finished the game btw. I expect to see you in the top 3, 'cause you are my top 1 at the moment.

Great job, so polished! Thank you for letting me see the whole game by not making me start at level one after each death  as there were many :skull: :coffin:. Glad to see so many godot games in LD54. congrats!

Great style, very funny, well presented... I can't get passed the 4 charging bois because I'm an old man who uses inverted y-axis in FPS games. ps. I want to add that i love the rpg-style encounter + fps thing going on.

Awesome! i didnt manage to get past the guy who spins with two sticks and shoots.

The learning curve was a bit brutal because the bullets and gun doesnt work the same as FPS games im used to, but perhaps thats on purpose to increase difficulty.

Had a blast tho! Great work.

This was a ton of fun. A nice basic premise with charming art and humor. I'm absolutely awful at FPS games but was able to beat this thankfully, good work :)

Fun game! I gave up after about 15 deaths on the four-sheep level (7 I think?). Those sheep guys were just way, way harder than the others, and I couldn't spin my mouse fast enough to pick them off. I liked the variety of challenge. The aiming was off to the left a little, which made it tricky - I didn't see the fullscreen advice until after. Charming and fun - I wish the difficulty wasn't so high for the sheep guys, though. Nice work!

This is genuinely one of the best games I have played this LD, so fun! When I got to the level where there was the two white crawly guys running at you, I just burst into laughter because I died immediately lol. Really inventive take on the theme and FPS games in general. Loved it!

It was really challenging but I didn't gave up! I've beat ganondorf and now I'm alone in my room. I have to run now...

Very solid entry. The game looks great and it was so fun to play.

I had a bug in the web player, I couldn't crouch. Don't know if it is normal or if I didn't understood what it is suppose to make. I also didn't had to use the dash.

Good job all!

PS: Do you really spin like that?
