Clear through the semi-randomized rooms to find your cat! 100 Rooms 20+ Weapons Two Room Themes 10 Enemies Random Blessings or Curses Lots of Carnage.
There might be a handful of bugs as per usual for a jam game. I've tired to iron out as much as I could but hey ho, it's not a jam game without some bugs. The randomization of the rooms could be a little better but with limited time, it's the best I could do :3

(Reuploaded as I found a couple of serious game breaking bugs although everything else is exactly as is.)

Thanks! I actually didn't do as much as planned as I basically missed the first day due to self inflicted food poisoning haha. Really wanted to do an extra set of levels and also perhaps an end boss but alas as per usual I ran out of time! Hope you liked it nonetheless!
The difficulty seems to be the same throughout the game for me except after 50 rooms with new enemies appearing.
Weapon are varied but I decided to rely on simpler weapon to avoid running out of ammo (which almost happened in my first try).
That being said, it was fun short game.
Love the artstyle, love the idea, HUGE respects for a full difficulty up and completely new rooms after level 50, this is even more work than I imagined.
Maybe levels 1-50 were too grindy and repetitive (especially after finding shotgun, haha), would love to be able to get to the real challenge a bit faster.
The amount of polish here is absolutely insane for the time it was made. it genuinely feels like a full finished game, not a 72 hour thing. i have no idea how you pulled this off, some black magic
Graphics are amazing, there's a lot of visual variety and the NES look is done excellently. The soundwork is great too, very satisfying sounds
The controls are great. There's a great amount variety of variety n the guns items room layout. I barely felt the repetition beacuse there's so many variables to the rooms they all end up feeling fresh. I could not stop playing the game until I finished it. super addictive.
I don' really know what else to say, it's just peak
The retro style is very well executed from looks to sounds.
Others in the comments seem to find it too easy, but I feel cramped and die easily, can't get nearly as far as them.
The different weapons are cool and feel good to shoot.
Died on 52. Default control was a bit annoying for me before I realized I could customize it, and I almost gave up before seeing others commenting about new rooms after level 50.
The only issue I had was that here in this room items seemed to fell under the ground and then I wasn't able to pick it up.
But it's really polished and I like the old school look. I wish I was good enough to see more levels ahah.
Great game for such short development time!
Only complaint I have is that once the game ends via defeat, if you're not on full screen, it will go back to full screen.
Excellent work!
