What a nice game ✨

The concept is easy to understand, controls are simple and work well (I had an easier time on controller), and the overall polish of the game is super impressive for a compo game. Combos are super satysfying!

I want to go back to it to try and improve my score! Current best is around 105k.

OK, let me try to write it again. :D

I like the aesthetics of the game: from its visuals to the way it sounds.
The graphics are simple, but special effects make it juicy enough.
These "combo" texts add to a retro feel.

The fact that I can configure the sound levels is also nice.

I hope I did get the mechanics right.
Looks and feels like a 4-way tetris.

One issue I had is the game freezing after pressing the start button.
Refreshing the page and starting the game anew fixes that.

Extra points for making it run in the browser. :)

All in all, this game is quite polished for a compo entry!

Better than Candy Crush!

Very fun and well made. I couldn't quite get my head around using the rotate function. As I found it hard to see all possibilities during the stressful tempo. Maybe a slightly easier mode to get a bit of a hang on the controls could've be nice?

So fun, I would love to get better at this. The game gives of a real nice arcade vibe and looks great. I think it would be nice to be able to rotate the thing both ways.

On the keyboard, it's quite complicated to use, however once you have the controller in hand it's much more pleasant, it fits very well with the theme. Maybe the block appears a little too quickly

The twist on Tetris and Candy Crush I never know I wanted, but I got anyway. Fun, pleasant, brilliant execution, loved it.

Wow really nice idea ! taking a tetris like game a making something new is a hard work ! some control could sound complicated at first like space to rotate since its A to validate but when your learn that all things go well ! I made 22570 score :smile:

Great work! It's awesome seeing a unique micro puzzle game, and this entry has the pieces of a quality game too (music, sfx, mood, objective). This is the way to do a Compo! True to the theme. The input on keyboard was a little too "tight", I would suggest making the place button use the other hand since the mouse is not needed for this game. A rotate mechanic could have also been interesting, but on some reflection might have incentivized quick matches to build up the combo which could potentially break the game.

@euix thank you for playing! There is a rotation mechanic in the game on spacebar or E keys. Also lot of players found the game is better experience with a controller, it feels more natural to them. You can also find a comfort zone on the keyboard if you use arrows to move with the right hand and X / Spacebar to place / rotate with the left hand.

Simple and easy to understand game. I do like the retro feel. The controls are a little confusing to start with as you say A or X does places them but WASD is used to move them like the arrow keys. The game did not respond when I turned the music down low causing the game not to start. Otherwise good game.

Very nice. Now make 99 player lobbies were you can send each other bad blocks and you got yourself a hit!
