Here's a tip for people who want to get further. Put some long-range defenders like Antibiotics in the middle along with a bunch of Mitochondria units. This will get you enough money to expand. Then, try to place some Mitosis units near the closing-in board to make way for an outward-facing base protected by close-range units.
Let me know if anyone beats my score of 3612!
A think the interface has a few small problems as well, small easy to fix things but that hurt my trust in the reliability of the controls and made the game harder to play, particularly when overwhelmed by a lot of units.
Being unable to select a unit type if you don't have enough currency feels likes a bad choice. When i'm waiting for currency to trickle in I often want to switch to the unit i plan to place down in anticipation for placing it, but since it doesn't allow me I often ended up putting down the wrong unit and wasting my money at a critical juncture.
A smidge of feedback would be nice as well for hovering/placing units. Perhaps a ghost of the unit selected so that I know with confidence what i'm about to place, and some small sounds when i select 1-6 with different pitches so I know what I have selected without looking, and another small sound when clicking that confirms or denys that a unit has been placed successfully so that in the middle of a frantic situation I waste less time in insecurity.
Either way it's good fun for something so simple. Haven't seen a tower defense with a radial layout like this.
My one and only issue with the interface is that the game does not allow you to select a tower type you don't have the DNA for - i.e. you can't choose a type, then wait to hit the trigger to build it once you have enough DNA.
Gave it my best, but couldn't get past a score of about 2300. I had a lot of fun trying to optimize the start and testing out the different towers and strategies. I think you did a good job at making all of them interesting and unique.
Was a bit annoyed by what i though of were delayed responses when clicking on towers. But now I read here that this was when you couldn't afford that category, while selecting it. That is my only critique though... enyoyed it very much :)
