Jumpy Fellow by LDJam user 305343
Welcome to Jumpy Fellow, a game about jumping up to the next platform for as long as you can to escape the Dangerous Substance.
If you're having trouble outrunning the Dangerous Substance, you can jump in the air, but be careful, as this ability is limited and recharges only once every 10 seconds.

However I very much like your graphic style :-)
Well done!
I dont like that you used W as a jumping button. That makes the control difficult. But I liked that you can jump out of the one side and come in from the otherside again. Also that you teach the player that in the beginning is great. You made so far the best use of the 10 Seconds rule I have seen so far! Its a live saver to use the double jump but also a valuable resource.
Good game and reminded me of Doodle jump for iOS a little :)
solid game, with some addictive mechanics! sound effect were nice (i mean hearing the footstep is super cool), and the double/triple jump with reload is a nice way to tweak the theme, congrats!
I couldn't get past 90m though. There was a lot of times I lost because things felt unfair.
I think the slipper movement adds an interesting dynamic, but it could be tuned down a little. I think the game would be better served by replacing the slippery movement with something like making it harder to move in the air then when on a platform. It feels like the game wants to be a precision platformer in the vein of old arcade platformers but ends up feeling frustrating to control.
It's also frustrating when a platform is just out of reach of a jump, which spacing of platforms might help?
The jump meter being at the top of the screen made it really hard to tell when I could use jumps at a glance. Placing it under the player would make that a lot easier.
It would also be nice to skip the tutorial on replay, to make restarting faster and keep players engaged.
Overall though I found myself wanting to play just one more time! It has a very fun gameloop and I feel like there is a really high skill ceiling while being really accessible, which I enjoy a lot.
Overall solid entry!
Having the player wrap around to the other side of the screen made for some really fun platforming, I kept on forgetting i could do it at the start but it felt really satisfying taking the shortest route up using it once I got used to it. For me the controls felt really good, I like platformers with some weight to them so the momentum felt perfect. Great job, I had a lot of fun!
Gameplay is simple but well executed, the "safety jump" mechanic works well. I love how you designed a simple tutorial level at the beginning to explain the mechanics, it's quite well done.
Controls work nicely, the character is very slippery indeed but it gives a "old super mario" vibe that I liked.
Great job and thanks for the game!
