made by LDJam user 298953 for Ludum Dare 51 (COMPO)

If it doesn't work as en embed, try the links below! This game was heavily inspired by old arcade shooters. To fit the theme, the player has a super shot that gives ten points instead of the standard one. Also, enemies traverse the level in a total of ten seconds. A and D are used to move and Space is used to shoot.Capture.PNG

Really cool game! Super fast paced, breakneck haha. Had to focus more on just trying to dodge than anything. Loved the sound and visual design too!

Oh my goodness that was super hard! But the nice thing with the fast pace was that I just kept on trying. It helps that I really like old arcade games

Brutal! I died so many times  So I have to give a shoutout for your death particles - I've been commenting on a lot of people's games that they need death animations! So thank you for that. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Would have liked a little bit of a buffer for receiving inputs from death to restart! Since I was usually shooting when I died, I would zip straight to restart. But otherwise, retro style looks good, very nostalgic. Sound is good - music bops and the sfx fit well. My only other suggestion is to slow down the bullets so the player has more reaction time. Good job!

Like a lot of others, I died many times... but I kept coming back for more, so I think that means it's a good entry!

Very fun this shoot em game up classic! Maybe the controls move too fast but the graphics are cool and the game keeps you going! Great game!

Simple but fun. I would say, just make the enemy bullets a little slower to make the gameplay feel a little fairer. In FF/Linux I did not get sound, but it worked in Chrome. Pretty good sound too, but I never get to hear more than the first 10 seconds or so of the music... I would say, do not restart the music when you die.

Very hard (or I am very bad), but fun! Personally, I'd prefer if I could hold space bar to fire - as my thumb was getting real tired. Music/sound design was good, overall a good entry!

Nice one! Really hard, I was rarely able to dodge the shots . I liked the graphical style.

I really like the music and the the visuals was okay. The gameplay idea is simple and pretty fun, but for me the game was way too fast. Overall an okay little jam game.

Wow this was hard but still fun. I suggest starting the game a bit easier with less enemies or them being slower and then ramping up dificulty over time. Also a highscore tracker would be cool because I accidentally clicked away my score every time after dying. Nice graphics and sounds!

I found the game pretty hard to get into since it was very, very hard. I think things need to be a lot slower in general. Because of input lag on my machine I had trouble moving less than a quarter of a screen width which made it very hard to accurately dodge.

If the game had some difficulty curve in terms of bullet speed or number of enemies it would be a lot more fun, without needing any major changes! It might be worth spending some more time on it to try to tighten up that aspect of the gameplay.

I was sooooooooo bad at this lol, and I'm with @terracottafrog there: even if there was a different difficulty setting that literally only slowed the enemies and bullets down a bit, it would've been super beneficial for me. Or as they and others recommended making the game ramp up in difficulty (or both: allowing people who are better at it to just start at a faster speed so they don't have to deal with the slow beginning for the rest of us lol).

But with that said, well done :D
