🐾 Read My Signal A 72-hour Ludum Dare jam game created under the theme of Signal.
🖱️ Controls: Mouse only

During a cicada-filled summer vacation, you stay in the countryside to help take care of your grandmother’s mysterious little shop.
In the daytime, it looks like nothing more than an ordinary quiet store—but when night falls, a long line begins to form outside the door.
And the customers… are all animals. 🐈🐕🐾
These little visitors cannot speak. Instead, they communicate through the movement of their tails, the direction of their ears, subtle body language, and their own unique secret signals.
🧐 As the shopkeeper, your job is to carefully observe each customer, interpret their “signals,” understand their hidden emotions and needs, and give them exactly the right item they are looking for.
If you make the right choice, your happy customers will leave behind their adorable paw prints—a special proof of your successful midnight trade. 📕🐾✨
🌙 The night is getting deeper, and the mysterious shop is about to open—
Tonight, can you read their signals?

It took a minute to figure out what I'm doing but it becomes more fun as I figure it out :D
Great use of the theme!
It's so well polished and the art is really well done
the code books where well thought out and the use of signals was really fun
the book could do with being a little smaller and the text a bit bigger. it was hard to see the words on the screen for the ludem dare game on your page so i had to guess what the writing said at times.
all in all fun game with a lovely art style and good sound !
Aww, so cute, so cute! I'm trying to learn the language of cats and dogs!
One small issue is that the mouse cursor sometimes blocks the object descriptions.
But it's still a perfect game anyway.
Such an impressive piece… this was made in 72 hours?! That’s honestly wild.
The art style is adorable with an excellent sense of aesthetics—everything feels cohesive, polished, and executed at a top-tier level. The gameplay is genuinely fun and creative, and I love that when I reopened the game, the animals were randomly arranged—that was a really nice touch.
The onboarding is also well done, with manuals and tutorials that can be toggled anytime, making the overall experience super smooth. It’s genuinely hard to find flaws.
If I had to mention one tiny drawback, it’s the lack of pause or exit button interactions—but it’s minor and doesn’t really take away from the experience. Highly recommended for everyone to give it a try!
But anyway, great idea and take on the "Signal" theme as well as beautiful art.
I don’t have a completed game sadly, just a proof of concept due to health issues.
Good job!!
A very cute game with clear instructions! There are many things to do, but the manual keeps you from getting confused! I love the interpretation of the theme; the random combinations can keep you playing for a long time! However, after playing for a while and memorizing the signals, the gameplay feels a little repetitive? I love the art style!
The game itself is fantastic, and the execution is no less so.
Quite simple gameplay-wise, but I could not let it go before I got the best stamps !
The lunatic dog really got me laughing :D
The art is charming and ties into the gameplay.
Music was a nice ambient touch.
Such a high level of polish, good job!
At first it was a bit confusing figuring out what exactly to do, especially with the codebook, but once it clicks the gameplay becomes really satisfying. I liked the idea of reading the animals’ signals and slowly learning how to respond to them — it’s a cool and creative take on the theme.
Would be nice if the onboarding was a bit smoother (maybe introducing signals step by step), and the manual slightly smaller or easier to read, but overall it didn’t ruin the experience.
Really enjoyable loop, charming atmosphere and great execution, especially for a jam game. Nice work!

Over all the game was just adorable. Great art!
And thank you for understanding very important thing about cats and dogs toe beans print difference!!

Text font could be a bit more readable, but I guess its just an aliasing problem in web version...
At first, I found it a bit tough. I actually failed the first two customers without fully understanding why. But as I paid closer attention to what each customer was asking for, and especially to the subtle hints in their characteristics, everything started to click. That learning curve ended up being very satisfying.
I also liked how the difficulty ramps up with multiple items to manage at once, it keeps things engaging and adds a nice layer of challenge.
Overall, huge congratulations on what you’ve accomplished here. It’s a fun, well crafted game, and honestly very impressive for a game jam project!
