Edit: One addition too. I really love how clearly readable every platforming challenge is. It really puts the important part as the execution, in a way that sort of reminds me of Celeste.
I hope you make this into a full game, would love to buy it!
Amazing work!
Well done. Not only for making a crazy good jam entry but also one of the best platformers I played recently. Cheers.
I made it through the first two worlds and will go on to tackle the third world during lunch tomorrow! :D

Congratulations guys!!
Then I was typing this and was going to say the only thing I felt was really missing was controller support, but I decided to try it since it's built natively into many engines these days and of course that works too! So now the only thing I can even "complain" about is wanting the ability to remap controls (I'd like to try triggers for the drill).
I'd still be pretty damn impressed if someone told me this was made in a month, but in 3 days? That's absolutely crazy. Bravo!
1. Consistency. Tailspin feels like a complete game.
2. Audio.
3. Drilling mechanics and level design.
If this isn't the winner this year, there's no justice.
Congratulation. Everything is top notch. 5/5. Would buy it if it was a game.
I'd be really interested to know how you put together such a polished game in such a short time -- have you worked together a lot? Do you have a standard plan / toolkit? I'm just getting started with game jamming in groups, and although it's _really_ fun it's really hard not to tread on each other's toes -- whilst clearly you lot have been very efficient :)
Excellent work and I'm looking forward to playing more!
We don't exactly have a formal plan or a pre-made toolkit, but having made several jam games together in the past we have figured out a good structure for making them.
The whole jam was spent in a voice call, being able to communicate easily and having a good idea of what everyone is doing and what needs to be done was essential to getting so much done in such a short period of time.
Having a dedicated concept artist was also really useful, having someone focused entirely on designing things for the game removed a lot of the stress from the other artists having to iterate on designs until we were all happy with them.
We also made sure to get someone to playtest the game a few hours before the deadline! This uncovered a lot of problems we didn't know of so we used the last 8 hours to fix those issues while getting the final few stages in.
The artwork is great, the music is good and fits the mood well, also a lot of good variety.
Great game, good job everyone!
That's the most complete game I've played in a jam by far, every aspect was top notch: gameplay, level design, graphics, music and sfx, i am just blown away, great work everyone!
The level design on 4-3 just wow!
I found a minor bug: when you drill down and you have only one tile of space, the character will get stuck and not be able to move forcing you to restart from checkpoint:

Overall it was an awesome experience, very well done everyone!
I had to wonder who was the team behind this and it turns out you all also made Trick Keys for the GMTK jam. I loved that game and it probably my top platformer pick from that jam!
Going to follow you all on itch now and I'm looking forward to your future jam games :)

I hope to see more of this, either with more gameplay content or perhaps developing the lore of the current experience to have more of a story to it. :D
Absolute congratulations!

Polished game, snazzy Chiptune-soundtrack and even achievements in place..
I would not understand how one could attain those golden scarabs from those extreme positions (eg. beneath killzone underneath the 'tramposhroom'/'bounceshroom').. Very solid good feels at 1st world.. then at 2nd world, after number of attempts, I bow-out, it's a gem for core-platformers.. clever execution of drill-action features (drill-flect to walls), was somehow expecting to drill upwards however I could see it's quite well laid out and at times demanding on some bottle-necks on careful timing..
Suggestion:
- Mr.Driller-esque type of drill-game action Mini-game/Arcade: collect as much golden scarabs [or a set #] and/or diamonds before timer runs out (downward drilling and occasional stunt-strats.), time-extended by clocks or drill-smash a hourglass-bug?
