-=-=-=-=-=-

You are Dr. Deckenstein's famously incredible cerebellum, and you've just escaped from out of a jar in Dr. Brainia's laboratory. Using your massive intellect (and literally nothing else), can you escape from Castle Brainia!

INSTRUCTIONS

WASD (or arrows) to Move.
SPACE to Jump.
Left-Click / Left Control to Attack...once you are "armed". Right-Click / Left Shift to Dash...when you have the "stomach" for it.

And...um...ALT-F4 (Windows) or CMD-Q (Mac) to quit.

(Need to cheat? SHIFT-B picks up the body part from the level and SHIFT-E exits the level.)

Great job as always Quill, the body part collection was fantastic, I particularly liked the leg back kick and the dash towards the end. Its always fun watching your development process to and its been an inspiration in my development work. Keep on keeping on my friend, you deserve some good chocolate and whiskey after this one.

It was great to have you on stream working on my first Ludum Dare! Your game came out great, fits the theme very well I think. My only regret is finishing with 99% waffles. Cheers!

This is a great game. Fun sounds, extraordinary design and great overall. After watched quill making this game in 48 hours, I'm encouraged by his motivation and I understood that creating a game from scratch in 48 hours more than enough. Keep up the good work 💪

Good and responsive game, the sound effect and pixel animation is very satisfying when you kill the skeleton. I collected all 212 Waffles!

Very nice and consistent looking graphics + fun sounds. Makes me want to die just to listen to the sound.
Jumping and collisions could use some work to make them feel more satisfying but that's a matter of simple tweaks. Very fun experience and I could see this being a full game.

The dash "WEEEE" sound effect definitely got a chuckle out of me. I do have to complain about the falling rocks there where definitely times where I had just spawned or just started a jump and one came on screen and knocked me back. I mean the game has infinite lives and a fair checkpoint system but it just feels bad to get hit as soon as you spawn. Other than that good game.

As always a really solid outcome - really enjoyed seeing the sound creation process  great humor - and very relaxing with let's play ish and the whiskey :thumbsup_tone1:

And thanks for teaching - you're probably the one who got me started about a year ago (just as a hobby though)

Loved the sound effects! The physics felt a bit weird though. Thanks for adding the cheats by the way. Had fun, good entry!

This was very fun. I watched you create it as I was making my own ludum dare game. It has a lot of content and feels very polished for 48 hours!

As much as I hated the moving sounds of the brain, I enjoyed everything else. Great job, Quill! Thanks a lot for the entertaining streams and all the programming content. Keep it up!

A pleasant platformer to play, a pleasant streaming to see (time to time, because i was also busy to work in Unity meanwhile).

Had fun with WebGL version up until I discovered CTRL-D adds a new bookmark in Firefox.. No, I don't want a DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD bookmark, I want to run towards that skeleton and bash it!

Nice work otherwise :)

At first I was a little bit desapointed by the simple platformer, I continued because I thought the 'cookies' would make me evovle or something, but then I touched the first pile of body parts! Awesome!

One big thing that could be better, make the first level shorter and maybe add an other small body part in first to teach what is the point of the game faster.

"You have escaped castle brainia. waffles collected 212/212 100%" It was fun watching you make the game and even more fun playing the game! Congrats Quill!

Great entry! I has fun playing this game and was wondering how did you had time to implement all of this! The sounds and graphics are great as well as the story (I'm just salty because I missed one coin haha)

Great game and great sound effects too! I did find two bugs in the last level though: If you get hit bij a falling rock while standing next to a wall it may knock you back past the wall's collision box and trap you in the wall. And once you get the dash ability, you can use it to get to above where you started (all the way at the left of the map) and fall for eternity. Both bugs require you to restart the entire game.

The sounds alone are enough to come back to this wacky entry. 🤣
Good job!

Very well polished entry and a lot of fun to play. Really loved the sounds - especially the dash made me chuckle a bit. The pixel art is nice as well.

I ended up stuck in a wall, though, after being hit by one of the meteors
