Liked the feel of the controls and actually the aesthetics as well :thumbsup_tone1:
:purple_heart: :dart: :frog:
Love the physics based gameplay too!
The camera was sometimes more of a foe than a friend
Interaction with the mouse felt a bit clunky, what made it a little too hard for me.
Overall great work!
I guess if i must find something negative it would be that some deaths felt unfair due to gaps between platforms. But with short levels there is no real time loss and no frustration. Great game!
The rest of it is absolutely fantastic though and all works well together. Good Job!!
The interaction isn't as exciting though, balancing the slurpie on blocks and pushing it around felt kind of tedious at times. Pushing it in just the right angle to throw it up into the air felt good though. I think if the input wasn't drag and drop but instead pushing keyboard buttons with the correct timing would work better to make it less fiddly.
Like others have said, the camera is your worst enemy in this game. I think the main issue is that the camera lags behind the slurpy way too much, affecting controls and making the movements feel imprecise and unfair at time.
Side note, but i found myself not using the keyboard at the beginning of the game and was surprised when i had to press a button to advance to the next level. Maybe a left click you work here so the player doesn't get out of "the zone" when doing good on the game?
…Yet challenging puzzle
Very well done!
In all seriousness that was an awesome game that I played right through to the end, which I rarely do.
Cheers!
1. "R" to restart is set to GetKey, not GetKeyDown, so if you hold the button you respawn indefinitely.
2. You made it possible to control everything in the game with a mouse, except for the "game over" screen and restarts, maybe it could be a good idea to make it a "mouse only" game.
3. A few times per level there's a strange animation glitch in which the blob becomes 2 times bigger for a split second.
The game looks great and I had a lot of fun playing it!
This game deserves to be with Tiny Fragments and Hope(Lich Clicker was cr*p). Lovely cut-scene and game idea!! The background did look a teeny bit repetitive though. Anyways good luck with your game!!
Rolling the Slurpy was really satisfying :) I enjoyed every moment of relaxing in the game, it was 8th lvl I think. The lvl where spikes are set all around, it was quite challenging for me but after 6th run I finally made it.
In whole game I only noticed 1 sound effect issue and I think it was clipping when you sometimes rolling Slurpy too fast.
The physics of rolling slurpy around and tossing him about the level were incredibly satisfying. I'm going to have to copy peoples opinion of the camera being unwieldy, though.
Keep up the good work, let the slurpies roll free!
Overall a really good game especially for a game jam!
Edit: the camera is pretty bad tho
